Peugeot 306 1.8

I have been a fan of Peugeots since I bought a humble 205 6 years ago and I'm now driving a lovely 306XS. The best part of this car and other 306s for that matter is the superb roadholding and handling of the car. However, for a sports car I think the performance from its multipoint injection engine is not quite up to scratch. Acceleration is below that of a Golf GTi but the sheer driveability makes up for this shortfall. Equipment is pretty good with alloys, remote central locking, electrics, remote stereo, pas and drivers airbag. Inside room is superb and the views are excellent with excellent rear view. However 306s are notorious for rattles and squeaks and the XS is no exception. Wind noise is a problem too.

The best point of the 306XS has to be the cheap insurance. No other GTi class car comes close to the 306XS insurance for value for money. At group 5 this is absolutely remarkable making the car perfect for those who wants a sports car without all the extra expenses.
