...This is a fantastic car, that in my opinion is the best on the road. Don't be put off by the fact it is a diesel. Critics have slated Diesels too hard because they are sluggish, smokey and noisy. Well in all admission, the 306D Turbo is smokey (when using a lot of torque) and the engine is noisy (although, it is quieter than the petrol versions when inside the car). However, it is not sluggish at all. The turbo found in the 306D Turbo is fantastic. You drive it and forget it is a diesel. The turbo comes in to its own at about 2000 revs, when it really boosts the car. In all honesty, when I bought the car I wasn't expecting such good acceleration. Its is brilliant.
The only criticism of the 306D Turbo (which is the same for the entire Peugeot range) is the quality of the dashboard. It is beautifully designed, but it creeks...

Advantages: Great Looking, Agile, Fun. Disadvantages: Diesel, Horrible seating position!
...When I first thought about the idea of writing a review on the car I drive, it seemed a pretty daunting task, however when I think about it, I know its god and bad points so I thought I'd give it a bash. O.K here we go.

Advantages: Cheap to insure, run, buy Disadvantages: 1.9 so fall outside cheap road tax!!
...After receiving a slap on the wrist over a year ago for speeding (along with a hefty fine and point i may add) I decided it was time to trade in my spoty Honda Accord 2.0i for a sensible car. The words boring economical and Diesel(heaven forbid)sprang to mind when I thought of low insurance and running costs. I settled on a 1995 306 Turbo which has since proven to be them best buy i have made!!.
The 306 has all the benefits of a diesel with the sporty looks of a hot hatch. I was pleasantly suprised the day I drove of the forecourt and felt the turbo kick in in second gear for the first time. The car handles great and has plenty of room to fit in five adults. Road noise is minimal and i have made long motorway drives with ease. A am fairly tall but do not have any problems with the seats(which are fully adjustable) and there is plenty...
