I have now owned a 306 Dturbo sport model for almost a year and i'm glad to say I am yet to be dissapointed. Essentially I looked at it because it was handsome and very cheap to run, however after driving it I realised peugeot's lion was roaring under this bonnet, it flies, it handles,its quiet, its incredibly reliable and comfortable. If just driving short distances around a town for example you could expect to be making around 45 miles to the gallon, on a longer run up the motorway, even at speeds in excess of the limit you may well see 55 or even 60mpg which quite frankly is amazing. In terms of comfort four people can happily drive half a day and get out feeling pretty good, five fit but it may start to become cramped. Fold down your rear seats and you can carry reasonably large loads I have in the past transported washing machines with not too much trouble.
In a years ownership and about 10 thousand miles I have had to change 1 cv boot {a perichsable item anyway} and that is all, other than routine servicing.
On the whole I have and still do enjoy owning a 306 Dturbo and would strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a car which is fashionable and terrific value for money in all aspects.
