After driving my Polo I felt like I was towering over other road users in this car. My only complaint would be I find it quiet hard to judge where the front of my car is when parking as the bonnet seems to drop down. INTERIOR:
This car is simple the biggest in its class that I have seen, there is loads of leg room inside and as it is so tall plenty of head space. There are plenty of little storage pockets inside the car. The Xline comes with Radio and CD player, and a radio remote control stalk for these, very handy. The dashboard however does look a bit plastic but there is a nice multi function display at the front which shows you more than enough details i.e.: date, time, how much fuel you have left your MPG if doors have been left open I could go on. This again comes with a steering wheel control stalk so it is simple enough to see all the read outs. The Driver and passenger seats are easily adjustable. It comes complete with central locking, no alarm as standard but it does have a factory fitted immobiliser, child safety locks and airbags which can be turned off I feel very safe in this car. There is a cigarette lighter hole which works for charging mobile phones etc although strangely comes without a cigarette lighter? Although they do actual call it a 12 Volt accessories socket not a cigarette lighter. I must admit to being disappointed with having manual wing mirrors which can be a pain if they have been knocked out of place. The front side windows are electric, where as the back side windows are wind down.
The boot is so spacious, you would think you were looking a saloon boot not a hatchback's. I have four children and not only do I manage to fit in all their bags and luggage when they go to their dads, but I have also managed to fit in a small bike a saxophone and a kids scooter.
CONCLUSION:
I must admit I do like my car, it is a nice drive, very smooth. It suits me and my family well. I drive it for the school run, shopping and also up and down the M6 and M1 going to family. I have never had a problem with it. It's quiet economical I average 39 mpg.I have taken this car in once for a first service and found the after sales care to be very good, it's due for it's yearly service this month and so far they have been very helpful.
I am glad that I hadn't read many reviews before I bought this car as there does seem to be a lot of people complaining about it, so now I am not sure whether it's just people that have a problem write reviews more than people that don't, or that I have just been very lucky. The air conditioning is a godsend when driving for 5 hours on a hot motorway. My only gripe with this car would be that it does seem to take ages for the heaters to warm the car up, but once warm it stays warm.
Would I buy this car again? Probably not but only because I like to try different cars, nothing to do with make or performance.
One thing I do want to say, a car is probably the second most expensive thing you will purchase in your life after a house. By all means read all the reviews you can about one, but I would always say the best way is to test it, test it and test it again.

When I was looking for a new car to buy, my criteria (at the time) was family-orientated long-term car.
I test-drove most vehicles in the £10k-15k price range and was pleasantly surprised when I got into the 307.
INSIDE
It has oodles of room inside.....I managed to fit in my 6ft 5in boss, my 6ft ex, and two other leggy mates and everyone fitted in without having each other's knee-caps up the other one's nostrils.
And not only that, the boot is ... ...and several cases of wine and not forgetting all the other car stuff like windscreen wash, triangle, fire extinguisher, etc and numerous pairs of shoes that find themselves in the boot.
Footwell heating is a bit poor which is a surprise. Whilst the air con is instant.
The dash and radio are very good and clear.....still like the steering column stereo control. Very good positioning of the central display. (however, the radio has a tendency to reset ...

We finally chose the peugeot over the rest because it had all of these things, cost us only £8k for a 1 and a half year old model, was extremely comfy, and the drivers seat was a lot more adjustable than most, this is also important as I am 6'2" and my wife is only about 5'4" quite a difference, which makes it very handy when the seat is easy to adjust. The car itself looks very stylish, the lights are very good, the stereo we had to change ... ...am being honest I have to say I don`t even own a cassette anymore, had to be changed, but again that was easily done via halfords with no problems using the audio slalk controls either, we just had to get an adaptor (again from halfords for about £15). The colour coding on the car is nice, all the instuments and dials are clear and can be read easily.
The only let down is the fact that you can`t see the bonnet so therefore parking is made tricky ...

I dont know much about cars, I got this car as two christmas presents so i cant comment on the price. However its a Very nice car to drive. Very spacious inside however if you are quite tall like myself the backseat space may be a little... limited :) Ive only had one incident where the durability of the car was tested and i was fairly impressed, side door hit with some force but only made a sizeable dent and smashed in the window. no dandger to ... ...decision im glad.
To drive? this car is very responsive. Brakes not to sensitive, same with the clutch and accelerator. Unless there is something actually wrong with the car (Duhh) very smooth and a pleasure to drive.
Looks? well i mean come on... look at it. its nice :) Put a samuri body kit on it and it looks even better but thats just my opinion :)

I bought this car second hand. It was a year old with only 8500 miles on the clock when I purchased it.
The reason for going for the 307 was really based on space and ease of driving. The 307 gives great headroom and storage space - we can easily fit in a pushchair, travel cot, 2 suitcases and all sorts of other stuf in the boot while still being able to see out the back. Also, the standard features, suc as Air Con are a great bonus.
My wife is ... ...vehicles. However, with the 307, they have built in extra windows near the wing mirrors which, when combined with the ability to move the driver seat anywhere you want it, virtually eliminates this problem.
I do have a couple of bug-bears though:
1. Electrics - this has been well documented. We have had the internal fans malfunction twice due to the same electrical fault.
2. The finish of the internal fittings is not the best - the controls are ...

Having visited a local showroom today I was surprised at how wide the car appeared but my overall impression was of a car which had many extras as standard. Certainly the basic spec ... ...The layout of the interior is modern and appears spacious. The centre console is either aluminium or wood effect. The aluminium effect on the cheaper models looks modern if a bit 60's style. The dials are large and positioned well. There is plenty of room in the rear seats for adult passengers although no central armrest on the model I looked at. The boot is spacious and a good shape. I purchased this car 2 months ago having traded in my 2003 SEAT Ibiza TDi Sport which was giving me trouble. Because I had been used to the 130bhp and almost 50mpg the Ibiza gave me I wanted something different, but still with these attributes.
So, I opted for the 1.6 HDi version of the 307. This gives 110bhp, and although its 20 bhp less than the Ibiza the power delivery is much smooth and more progressive. The 307 HDI is a full blown turbo, so it doesn't suffer nearly as badly from "turbo lag", meaning it pulls well in all gears from as low down as 1000-1200 rpm. It is also incredible quiet when stood as it ticks over at less than 800 rpm (meaning you don't sound quite so much like a tractor as other diesels)
The 307 is a mid-sized family car and will easily seat 5 people (even the 3-door version I have - its very easy to get in ...

We foster 3 youngsters, have a grandson and stepgrandson, we decided we needed an occasional 7 seater, eventually settling on the 307.
Used as a 5-seat estate, it's pretty roomy. Bit cramped with 7. The rear 2 seats are ok for little people, or for a lift to the pub, but I wouldn't want to drive down to the south of France, or even the south coast, in the third row. It's versatile with the seating, the rear 5 can be configured many ways. Stowage is limited, there are drawers under the (fully adjustable) driver and front passenger seats, "map" pockets on the backs of the seats, and reasonable door pockets. There's nowhere to stow your road map properly though. The "glovebox" is a bit small, but it's air conditioned (for keeping drinks cool apparently).
I was surprised how quiet it is, and taken aback by the performance of a 1.6 ...
