Advantages Good looking, solid build
Disadvantages Coarse engine, spongy feel
The 406 is sleek and good-looking. Ride and handling compete with best in class but straight-line performance is so-so.
Build is solid, instrumentation is clear and the 406 is well-equipped and spacious. The driver’s seat is adjustable as is the steering. However, there is an awful, completely useless mound of black plastic on the passenger side and some awful imitation wood trims. Headroom in the back is limited.
The engine sounds coarse at high revs, and due to its soft pedals, the whole drive has a spongy feel to it.
