A pretty good runner (without trying to tempt fate!), though slow
Advantages: Cheap, not a bad looking car, fuel efficient Disadvantages: Low equipment models, slow
...pretty quick for work. Normally, Peugeot would have been the last manufacturer I would have turned to! I saw my 306 advertised locally for £800 with 6 months tax, and almost a full years MOT, so it seemed like quite a bargain. Having to look past my moderate dislike of Peugeots, and French cars in general, it actually wasn't a bad looking little car. The model I have is the 1.9 naturally aspirated diesel engine, and the XND trim level. The first ... ...corner, I've regularly seen my Peugeot go from a quarter of a tank of diesel, right down to the bottom, even to the point where the fuel light comes on. Whether this is a design flaw, or perhaps simply a faulty gauge on my car, I couldn't say. The seats are comfortable, and fine for long journeys. For quite a small car there is quite good leg room in the back also. In terms of driving, I have to say that this car is one of the nicest drives. I've ...

Automatic 1.6!
Advantages: Looks good, very comfortable, handles well. Disadvantages: 1.6 petrol is not as good as the diesel models
This is the car that me and my wife bought for her to drive as I had already own a 306 1.9td and loved the car. She fell in love with the car on first sight, it a great blue colour and looks fantastic. Inside its so comfotable and there is plenty of room in the back for most people, I am 6 foot and find it ok to sit in the back even on a long trip. There is plenty of boot space too.
As for the reliablity it is pretty good, we have had the car for ... ...fault with the automatic gear box and the power steering not working. The running costs are reasonable but if you are thinking of getting a 306 I would go for a diesel model instead of a petrol one as the diesel engines are so good.
I would love to buy another 306 for myself in the future but would go for the 2.0 HDI which I have heard great things about. ...

306 HDi - The Lion goes from strength to strength
Advantages: Good economy and performance Disadvantages: A bit basic and lacking in features
I have owned and driven a 306 HDI Estate for 4 years now and I have never been anything other than impressed. The car itself still looks good despite being 10 years old and it drives and handles well. The estate is so useful for carrying all osrts of things around including sports gear and beekeeping equipment. Interior wise the car is nothing special but at the smae point everything is still working so I have no complaints. The HDI engine is immense, ... ...me a consistent 55 miles to the gallon. Last year I looked at trading it in for a 307 estate but decided not to, the clean lines and sleek styling of the 306 simply are not there in the 307. This car has cost us very little over the years beyond the normal tyres, suspension and servicing. If youy can find a good one I really recommend it. Mine now has 170000 miles on the clock and is still going strong. ...

Peugeot 309 1.9XLDT - Brilliant Purchase
Advantages: Easy to navigate, reliable and great on fuel consumption. Disadvantages: Added extras not so reliable.
I have owned the Peugeot 306 1.9xldt for over a year now and i havent had any problems so far! Not once have i broken down or had to have repairs just the general servicing. The fuel consumption is something to be proud of, although it costs a hefty £86 now to fill the tank, i can travel the 297 miles fromnorfolk to south wales and back then commute to work for 2 weeks untill on the light then i get a further 82 miles on the light. The car itself ... ...has all the neccessary bits and pieces. The only thing i could complain about with this car is the egenral parts that come with such as the jack and associated tools. They have not been suitable when needed to change a tyre and are not of a good quality. Other than this i am very pleased with the purchase of this vehicle. ...

looks cool, only gets worse
Advantages: trendy Disadvantages: everything else
Had a 306 fro approx. 6 months and as soon as I sell it the better. Nippy, looks good, but not much more I'm afraid to say. Problems with battery, alarm, immobiliser and the list just keeps going. Just spent £250 but with another £500 on the hirizon..i just need some unlucky victim to come along soon...please help! Anyone good luck if you have one, avoid if you don't but maybe I was just an unlucky one! Another problem that Ive experienced is due ... ...economy aspect that many other smalller cars, especially diesels can offer and when one is having to pay £60 in order to travel 500 miles you have to ask certain questions. All I can say is if this car is still of interest, make sure the milage is low, you get it checked out by the AA first an that it has a full service history, good luck! ...
