Peugeot 307 SW 1.6 HDi SE
Advantages: Versatile seating, economy, comfort, noise levels, low ved, low insurance Disadvantages: middle seat 2nd row 3rd row cramped, don't buy if you carry larger kids!
...consumption to be higher than Peugeot claim (around 50mpg). So far no problems, very reliable. Having been on a couple of longish runs (110 miles, 175 & 225) we have found it a relaxing car to drive, and the fuel consumption gets better on long runs.
With Peugeot's low emissions, and the low insurance rating (group 6 -7, direct line call it something like group 40, they're a bit odd) it all adds to the economy of the car.
Parking is pretty easy, ... ...essential.
Have now used the 6 & 7 seats several times; really limits boot space. Have also used 4 seats, 2 + 1 + 1 to carry long loads +4 people. The kids often ask to sit in the back, even if the second row is vacant. All the kids love the panoramic roof with the electric cover. Can I recommend this as a people carrier? Only if you are leprechauns! If you need to carry under 10-year-olds it's ok. If you need to carry medium to tall people, forget ...

Peugeot 307 2.0 HDi 110 remaps
Advantages: +cheap road tax+cheap ins+good mpgs+looks good+handles well +boot space Disadvantages: +Dual mass flywheel and poor quality clutch+high seating postion
I have just purchased a peugeot 307 2.0 HDi D Turbo 110bhp as standard the car was a bit slow,so i decided to have a engine remap which improved the cars performance amazingly. It now produces 150bhp and 250 ft/lbs of torque and is a very nice car to drive. However the clutch and flywheel has just gone and i was considering uprating them as the flywheel is a dual mass flywheel and are renowned for being problematic and changing it to a solid flywheel ... ...really is the nicest car i have ever owned i have a 10month year old little girl and even with the three door version i have no problems putting the car seat in and out and the boot space is brilliant for my bodyboards a happy purchase for me! : ) comfortable, spacious, good road handling, looks good and great featues. ...

307 Estate- STEER CLEAR!
Advantages: Size of cabin, Engine Size Disadvantages: Unreliable and Unsafe
I bought my peugeot 307 estate for £5000 cash at the start of May 2007, it is now July 1st and my car has been in the car garage no less than 5times for repairs. These have ranged from electrical through to engine problems. At one point the car broke down on a busy road with my 3 children in the car. I am having no joy with Hardies Peugeot as i now want a refund!!!
The car is also terrible at handling and I have come close to steering off the road ...

New model Peugeot 307 much better than old one!
Advantages: great performance and fuel economy Disadvantages: haven't found too many disadvantages yet!
...had a new look model Peugeot 307 since Noember 2005 having previously had one of the orginal 307s. I have had the car from new but did not buy it as it is a company car leased from Peugeot Contract Hire.
It is a three door hatchback diesel HDi 90bhp with manual transmission. Personally I don't like having just the three doors which I find is very inconvenient but I am not on a high enough grade to merit 5 - not the cars fault, this!
My first 307 ... ...I kept taking it to Peugeot dealers but theywouldn't do anything about it and said it was meant to be like that. One even said it was good as it meant it was efficient and I would get used to it!! Eventually I emailed Peugeot and they made the garage replace them. Peugeot dealers don't seem to like dealing with these contract hire cars; neither do tyre services.
Overall I have been pleased with the car and would recommend it to others. ...

...When I went onto a Peugeot 307 forum, there were so many horror stories of people with the same problem and they`d had the cleaning and sensor replacement done, only to find that the fault still existed. I decided to contact Peugeot directly and they said that there was nothing that they could do because the dealer had done the recall correctly. I didn`t have it fixed, I knew that it would fail the MOT which was due within three weeks, I sold it ... ...putting "Peugeot 307" into a search engine & look for the Pegueot 307 forum. 250,000 european 307`s are being recalled. If you have one of these cars and you have no problems at the moment, I would stongly advise you to ignore the recall notice as you WILL get it back with ABS problems or even something more sinister, My wife got to the stage where she started to refuse to drive the car in fear of the barkes not working. I explained to her that the ...
