Review writing on hold - too much school work and coursework to do at the moment. Don't think I'll be writing until after my exams in late June :(

Personally, I think that a computer monitor says a lot about what type of person you are. A stylish and classy monitor is often seen at the desk of a stylish and classy person. Unfortunately, I do not think that this monitor is not particularly stylish or classy. However, it does have a superb screen with awesome picture quality that makes using the computer very easy. This monitor is attached to the PC in our study and I use it frequently for doing homework. We have had it a couple of years now and it has been a very good and reliable monitor, with no problems.
**Picture Quality**
As I have already mentioned this monitor has absolutely stunning picture quality. It is crystal clear and everything looks very sharp and well defined. This therefore makes it ideal for everyday use, such as surfing the internet and using Microsoft products. Unfortunately, we do not have any games installed on the PC and therefore I cannot pass judgement on its ability to cope with high detailed games. I would imagine that it should be adequate for most games but some of the latest releases may not be a good idea! The size of the screen is also superb - it looks very large for 17 inches! Overall, superb picture quality - I cannot fault it for the purpose of my use 9/10
**Design and looks**
The Philips 107E76 is certainly not going to win any awards for looks. It is quite a bulky monitor and has a large presence sat on your desk. Indeed, the design is slightly different from many monitors, and yes - beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Sadly, it is not a great piece of artwork in my eyes. However, it is very robust and is extremely sturdy and well built. I think it would take quite a hefty blow to break it!
The monitor is also very deep and you need a lot of space to sit it on your desk. If space availability is a problem then this monitor is not for you. Fortunately, we have a corner desk and it is able to fit rather snugly in the corner up against the wall.
Overall, the design and looks gets a sturdy, but not eye catching 5/10
**Features**
The monitor has all of the features you would expect. However, it is not the easiest thing to operate and can often lead to those 'Oh no, what have I done moments!' This has only happened to me on one occasion but it was easily resolved. The control buttons are located at the bottom of the monitor, but don't look particularly good again and aren't easy to see what each button does. 6/10
**Installation**
Like most monitors now, very easy to install and set-up. The manuals were handy but hardly had to be consulted. It took a matter of minutes before we were up and running! Piece of cake 8/10
**Value for Money**
For £80 odd quid, this monitor has superb picture quality. It doesn't look great, but does the job with aplomb. I'm not too hot on what the competition is like, so shop around before you make a purchasing decision. 7/10
**Who is this monitor for?**
This monitor is perfect for people looking for a nice crystal clear picture and a reliable monitor that they can keep for a good few years. It is nothing flash and is good value for money. Serious gamers should not purchase this in my opinion.
**Final verdict**
A good all round monitor. Awesome picture and a good sized screen, let down by some poor looks and the fact that it is a little bit large! Easy to install and set-up, it can sit on your desk happily for many years!
The score: 7/10
Happy Monitor Hunting!
How helpful would this review be to a person making a buying decision? Rating guidelines
A nice, slim feline is the latest look but hey, why change what works? I'd like a new monitor but will keep what I've got till it gives up the ghost - hopefully by that time the modern ones will be much cheaper. Good review. :)
