Manufacturer's product description
The Philips Brilliance 230WP7NS widescreen LCD monitor features a WUXGA 1920x1200 resolution, perfect for viewing two full-size (A4 or letter) pages side by side. A viewing angle of up to 178 degrees ensures a crisp picture during presentation settings. In addition, the LCD's advanced panel boosts performance from the previous generation model. Its 12ms response rate (8ms gray-to-gray) improves picture quality, delivering seamless imaging with no noticeable ghost images. The design of the 230WP7NS focuses on user comfort and performance. The monitor leverages Philips' Super Ergo base, which adds versatility and creates an optimal viewing position for maximum comfort. The base allows the user to adjust the height, swivel and tilt of the monitor and can be used in either the traditional landscape or a portrait view. The 230WP7NS widescreen LCD monitor also features several image-enhancing technologies. SmartControl empowers users to fine-tune display performance by easily adjusting the various display settings in a familiar way. The picture quality of the 230WP7NS translates onto the physical page as well. The monitor is sRGB-enabled, calibrating color settings with any sRGB-equipped printer. The IT department also benefits from the 230WP7NS. The monitor is equipped with SmartManage technology, which allows administrators to include monitors in their asset management system. Administrators can track usage hours, adjust monitor settings, reset factory settings, verify monitor locations, power monitors on and off, provide technical support, communicate with end-users and set security policies to prevent theft and loss.
Advantages: Ultra Fast Read, ReWrite, Write, Underrun Protection, Nero5.5, 2yr Warranty, Easy Install Wizard, Sound Quality. Disadvantages: Worked Well For A Few Days, Wouldn't Write Data, Specification Discrepancies, Nero Bundled Version.
...§~§~§~§~§~§~§~§
This is an ultra fast CD-ReWriter, at a very reasonable price. I was running mine on a lower specification than it says on the box, ALTHOUGH the set up installation wizard, states my specification is acceptable. Hhhmm. That could be why it wasn't up to the tasks. By rights, it should have been! Another reason it COULD have not been the writer for me, is the bundled software. I say this after reading some reviews concerning CD-ReWriters with their software conflicts. Bundled software isn't the full product. Plus the software used by Philips slowed the write speed down to unacceptable levels. I was unhappy also, that the time it reported the CD-R as "failed write", was after the CD had already been ruined by written data that far into the disc. These things didn't happen immediately, at first things seemed good. Then I...

...Without most of us really noticing a thing, the recordable DVD market has progressed in leaps and bounds. Could it be time to banish your video machine to the fiery depths of the electronic abyss? Read the review and then some important info on DVD Formats.
Philips DVDR880/890
Both very similar machines, just varying slightly in price and features and like the new released models by Philips, they have been good sellers in a volatile and suspicious market.

Turn the first few pages of the manual and you would forgiven for believing you have purchased a stylish looking VCR. On closer inspection, the large gaping cassette hole has been replaced with a CD draw and all those analogue outputs with digital ones.
Like modern VCR’s, the Philips range include the usual VideoPlus, PDC, timer recording, One Touch Recording...

As CRTs are, they are big and heavy. They take up a lot of desk space and you don't often feel like moving them around to suit the position you're in and this one doesn't try to make an exception. The casing is pure white and fairly solid. Air vents are dotted by the hundred on the back for suitable cooling and does get quite warm. There is a swivel stand to turn left & right and up & down to a certain degree, the maximum upward tilt may still be too low for many. The brightness and contrast controls...

Sonicare was my dentists recommendation. I previously used an electric rechargable brush with mechanical action - and I cannot believe the difference that using this sonic unit has made. After 3 months use, my teeth are whiter, feel smoother to the... more

I have fairly sensitive skin and up until now I have always used a wet shave razor. Wet razors didn't leave my skin burning, but they did leave the skin feeling very exposed and would cause it to dry out. Since I'd read that electric razors were good in... more
