I'd always wanted a 32 inch widescreen TV. After looking at many I purchased this one. Good picture, sound quality also good. As it's a piece of furniture almost, it had to look good even when turned off. Many sets I looked at had ugly controls showing. This set has buttons on the top for volume and programme, which are flush and not normally noticable. It's very heavy so you need help if you buy from a cash & carry place. A few problems though..... If you use the remote to change the screen size (for your own preference - usually it switches automatically) it remembers that setting. That's ok, but I can find no way of getting it to go back to auto switching other than turning the set off and on again (not to standby). So you have to go to the set to do this. Secondly it had a fault from new. The picture pulses when changing to a view with a lot of white at the bottom. I was told it was a known fault. It was 'fixed' (a Philips mod). It's still faulty !!!
