Advantages: Good choice of connections, great sound and picture Disadvantages: Niggly scart and coax sockets

The stereo speakers on either side of the unit are almost invisible and yet push out the volume very nicely. There's a ... ...and its fine in my book.
I have a 2.1 DVD player and a Sky box attached although I tend to use the inbuilt Freeview much more. I bet that if you hooked up a decent surround sound to this TV you would have a great cinema experience.
It is, of course, fully HD compatible and has 6 different screen formats. Mine spends most of its time in Widescreen, but its a great picture in Move Expand 16:9.
I received this TV almost a year ago as a Birthday present. I can honestly say, you would be hard pushed to get a better 42" plasma TV for the price.

The stereo speakers on either side of the unit are almost invisible and yet push out the volume very nicely. There's a lack of bass there but I'm no expert on that and its fine in my book.

The silver remote control compliments the image very nicely. Everything is availble from the remote. Telextext is a doddle on it! Like another review on here, the choice of setups is amazing! You really could spend hours delving into each set of commands. Mine came already setup and therefore I haven't played around much.
Even when you need updates to the Freeview channels this is almost completely taken care of for you, you just have to accept it.
A couple of minor things is the location of the scart cables and the icons on the remote. The scart sockets are vertical downward pointing and therefore a real pig to move around. However, how often do you have to do that? Tip: Don't use thick cabled scarts as they will foul the back of the TV. The remote has icons on it that you will need your manual for! The buttons at the foot of the remote don't seem to have much rhyme and reason as to what they do. Like I say though, pretty minor problems.
Overall, a superb TV and you can now get this model and similar ones for under £800. Best bargain buy you will have. Buy Philips!
Advantages: Excellent Bright Pictures Disadvantages: Price Tag
This is an incredibly flat television. I have it fix to the wall by a wall bracket which was an extra £55. Although an extra £55 was not a lot compared to the price of the TV, so I didn't mind paying it. The TV has brilliant display qualities. I have my Sky box connected to it, and all channels that I receive are brilliant. The TV came set up, it is exactly right, but you can change all the factors about it. The connections are on the bottom, so ... ...get to all connections, and make any alterations or additions. The sound quality is also brilliant. It is easy to change the volume by either the remote of the buttons on the TV. All the buttons on the TV are on the top, these are a bit inaccessible, and can be a pain to get to when the TV is up high. Also at the start, it is I pressed the wrong button occasionally because I didn't know where they were. The remote is easy to use and requires 2AA ...
