Philips v La Lanne

I was originally planning to buy a Jack La Lanne - my original juicer purchased years before at the Ideal Home Show had given up and I had my heart set on a whole fruit juicer. The Jack La Lanne was expensive and I saw the Philips in a London store for just under £100 and bought it. It is easy to use, very easy to take apart for cleaning and re-assemble. It is a very effcient juicer and the pulp which comes out is nearly dry which is a sign of a good juicer. A couple of years later I saw one of the La Lanne models on special offer and decided there would be no harm in owning a "spare". I was very disappointed. The juicer has more parts that need cleaning after use and takes longer to dismantle. It is also noisier than the Philips. Philips Electric Shaver

Advantages: Built In Conditioner, quiet, stylish, effective
Disadvantages: Bit of a hassle to clean

and colours. The feel of it is very comfortable on the hand and is easy to grip, due to slight ridges around the back of the shaver. This also makes it very comfortable and easy to hold, which i would say is one of the most important factors in something that is to be used daily. Also, obviously, it must be good at its job. Which this shaver is. It did a very good job, and was the closest shave i have ever had. I was previously using a gillette mach 3 razor and shaving foam. The Philips shaver eliminates the need for shaving foam, which i always found an annoyance. I think that the reason for the closeness is the fact that each of the heads vibrates/girates and moves independantly, meaning that they can move accordingly to each person's individual features. Whilst the high gloss finish does look very elegant, it is a proverbial pain in the rear to keep clean as it shows up finger marks very easily. On this handset however, Philips have used a high gloss finish on the sides but kept the front of the unit (the bit that comes into contact with you) a matt finish dramatically reducing the need for constant cleaning. A nice little touch inside the box is the inclusion of two large spectacle type cleaning cloths to keep your phone looking its optimum.
