On paper the Phillips CD player is a quality product, looks good sounds good and is good value for money. It has a wide range of features and is suitable everyone who has a CD collection.

The player itself is a good looking player with a cool metal top making it feel expensive and valuable, the rest is made of plastic which unfortunately does feel cheap especially the buttons they feel so cheap and tacky and feel like they are going to pop off when you press them.

The sound quality is at best OK, usually the sound is poor and somehow the player adds a monotonous whirr to your music. Im not done yet ! While listening to music if you decide to use the bass boost feature (DBB) the music will become distorted and boomy so that rules out that function.I have heard a variety of bleeps which seem to happen regular intervals when playing CDs and to top it all off the supplied headphones are useless cheap tacky and the sound quality is aweful and whos ears where they meant to fit ??

The Phillips player also features a 45 second Electronic Shock Protection (ESP) and claims to be jogproof, don't be fooled the player can't even withstand walking down the street in my pocket, when I use it I find myself having to walk slowly holding the CD player in my hands to keep it from skipping also when the ESP kicks in which is nearly all the time your music stops for around 10 seconds and you hear whirring and clicking while it sorts itself out and it doesnt seem to make a difference, so what is Phillips idea of a jogproof CD player well granted the CD player will withstand jogging but it wont play you any music??

The battery life is another downer this thing drinks like a man in the desert, with normal everyday use of a couple of hours walking you will need to change the batteries every day or so !! Yes every day, the battery life is claimed to be 20 hours but you will be very lucky to see more than 3-4 hours. Very poor.

I dont like this player one bit, it looks good on paper but in reality it is a different story altogether. Buy yourself another CD player or of you have enough treat yourself to an iPod. STEER CLEAR. Thank you for reading.
