    Advantages Advantages Large Output of Steam, Vertical Steam Shooting for ironing hanging curtains, self clean button, long lasting.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Insulated Cable wear and tear.

    The Philips Azur Excel Plus 525 was heavily advertised across out TV screens at one time as the iron that could push steam vertically like no other iron had done before. The famous advert of a lady holding the iron to a hanging curtain and shooting vertical jets of steam at it, made me all the more eager to purchase this rather ‘vogue’ featured iron. The iron itself has a six steam setting and 3 buttons: one to squirt out water, one to give out more steam and one to give out stronger shots of vertical steam.     Advantages Advantages makes ironing quick

    Disadvantages Disadvantages doesn't actually do the ironing for you

    I have had my Philips iron for about a year and it is the longest I've ever had an iron. It is a cordless one which means that the wire doesn't get tangled and burst into flames like the rest of them have in the past. Although when you use it on cordless mode it tends to cool down very quickly so it is actually best use it as a normal conventional Iron. It is a steam Iron which makes ironing twice as easy and it has got quite a pointed end which makes it very good at getting into tight little places and creases. It cost about £29.99 I think for the money it was a very good product ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages is inclined to use more water than my old iron

    I have struggled for years with my old iron. It was heavy and forever left water marks on my clothes. After fifteen years when the flex began to wear I refused the offer (by my husband) to replace the flex and insisted on a new iron. I spent two weeks studying all the irons I could find in catalogues and electrical shops before finally making a purchase. My purchase of the Philips Azur GC 4018 was quite painless ! I allowed my ironing to accumulate and put off using the new iron for a few days (the previous iron was almost like an old friend) but gosh - wow - gee. I now love ironing and look ... more
