Advantages: The box works well. Disadvantages: The remote control doesn't.
...I like Philips stuff. I even like my new DRT 220 set top box. Although it's only a small, anonymous black block it does everything asked of it with good reception, nice clear menus, excellent automatic tuning etc etc. Basically, for a cheap piece of kit, it ticks all the boxes.
Then, unfortunately, we have the remote control . I can only imagine that Philips were so pleased with the designers for fitting so much good stuff into a little black plastic block that it sent them all home early and left the office cat to design the remote control. ITS AWFUL!
It's another small (very small), anonymous black block, cleverly made symmetrical so you can barely see which way up it is, and certainly can't tell easily by touch. The small, almost entirely black buttons are barely visible on the small almost entirely black face. The tiny printing...

Advantages: Value for money, best picture Disadvantages: not the best looking
...The 36" Philips Flat screen TV is in in my opinion the best in the range.
I stood in Selfridges and John Lewis for about 2 hours trying to decide which 36 inch had the best picture. The Hitachi was awful, the new Sony was also poor and far too expensive at about £2,500. It came down to the Philips and the Panasonic. The Panasonic looks better, but the Philips is cheaper, and has a clearer and brighter picture.
The on screen displays are great, the remote control is not amazing, but it does the job. Definitely the best value for money....

Advantages: They sound fine Disadvantages: Irreplaceable rubber caps fall of WAY TOO easily
...Beware Beware Beware before buying ANY Philips in-ear headphones. They come with little rubber ear caps... that just loosely "hang" on the end of each headphone to seal into your ear. These things get lost EXTREMELY easily, easpecially if you are running or doing any type of exercise activity. When you lose them in a matter of a few months, you are completely out of luck & WILL NOT find anywhere that seels them. As a matter of fact, I was told Philips purposely does not sell these cheap little items so people must buy a whole new set of headphones which ,to me as a customer, is insulting. Trust me, you will go through the same experience as I if you buy ANY Philips in-ear headphones....

After owning a dvd/vhs player for about 4 years and the dvd player finally deciding not to work at all, after a period of it sometimes playing dvds and sometimes not depending on the mood it was in, it was decided it was time to get a new one. As we now... more
I have fairly sensitive skin and up until now I have always used a wet shave razor. Wet razors didn't leave my skin burning, but they did leave the skin feeling very exposed and would cause it to dry out. Since I'd read that electric razors were good in... more
I was attracted to purchase this DVD player a while ago for its DivX capabilities (something not too many players have).
It is a fairly impressive HDMI player, supporting 1080p High Definition resolution pictures. The HD output is flawless and makes... more
Having wet shaved my whole life, I've decided to invest for an electric dry shaver. Why? Because wet shaving is a pain for me (I switched from Gilette Fusion Power) and I simply don't have enough time to wet shave. Trying not to disappoint my first... more
