This one of 3 DVD players in our household and this is the one that sits proudly in the living room, the 2 previous occupiers of that prime position are now safely tucked up in my childrens bedrooms.

This DVD is tiny when compared to its predecessors and is increadably thin (actual size is 34 x 4.3 x 28.5cm).

It is Silver in colour as most Home entertainment equipment is nowadays.

It plays every format you can imagine DVD +R/RW, DVD -R/RW, CD R/RW, VCD and SVCD as well as Jpeg.

Another handy feature is the 5 disk bookmark, the DVD remembers at what point you are if you stop a DVD and resumes play from that point, The DVD Player not only remembers the position on the current disk but the previous 4 disks you have played.

It outputs in Dolby Digital and sounds great through surround sound.

The only fault I can find is the stupid x2 appears in the top right if you zoom in, as we have done in the past on some of these cinema screen DVDs.

If you wish to convert this player from region 2 to region free follow the simple instructions below:

1. Open the DVD player disc tray
2. Press 9,9,9,9,0 on the remote control (slowly)
3. Close the DVD player disc tray

The above code will turn your player into what is called "region-free". If you require the player to be a single region, for example region 1, then simply repeat the process and replace the "0" with a "1". This may be required if you have trouble playing DVDs purchased from outside the UK that have Region Code Enhancement technology on them. These titles are in a minority and you will find a substantial amount of titles will play without the need to change region. Please note that switching between regions can only be performed a maximum of 25 times before the player is locked on the 25th region selected.

Overall excellent value for money at only £50 from Tescos.
