(+) high sound quality, diverse functions, record to tape mode, record from tape mode (-) usless instruction manual, useless recording programme, not all cables supplied
Advantages: great picture and at a reasonable price Disadvantages: none that come to mind
My last television served me for years before I gave into temptation and forked out £399.99 for the Philips 32PFL5403D to enable me to move into the 21st century and experience the true viewing purity of HD performance. I'm not a big watcher of television and don't have acres of space so the larger more expensive models were easy to ignore and I honestly think I have unearthed a gem of a television that didn't break the bank.
The set up and installation was a piece of cake as the flat screen is really easy to put into place as it isn't that heavy and is easily portable with most of the weight in the base and lower part of the unit to give it balance when placed on any flat surface. I opted to buy a specialist television stand for a further £69.99 as the high-tec look really didn'y fit in with the oak stand my old television was ...

Advantages: Movies, LiveView, 12.3 mpixels, build quality, excellent lens range Disadvantages: Still quite bulky for casual use. Expensive if that's all you want it for
There?s been a legion of digital cameras that have passed through my hands since they started to become a serious contender for 35mm?s domination of the amateur market. Since I bought the D70 four or five years back, things have moved on apace ...

Advantages: Good specification Disadvantages: Difficult to get a good picture
Had this model for 10 days now and still can't get what I consider to be a good picture.
I suppose the biggest problem is the huge variation in broadcast quality which means that setting a picture for one channel doesn't mean it will be ok for another.
The TV itself does not have a very wide viewing angle and sitting to one side of the screen gives a bleached out picture
The Dynamic Contrast and Auto Light level features need to be switched off because once you become aware of them working, it becomes a nuisance and distraction
With a good broadcast signal and viewing it head-on you can get a very good picture
So at the moment, I would say that I am not totally satisfied with this model - which is a 42" - and I dont think it is as good as a philips 37" LcD that we use upstairs
Having said all of the above, my tv is connected ...
