I bought my Phillips Flat Panel as part of a computer package for going off to university, knowing I would need a reliable computer and screen to do all me work on and it has prroved a great buy.
First impressions of this monitor are that it is light, fits into a nice neat small space leaving more room on your desk for other things. It's white frame is clean and modern and although it is quite wide it is not bulcky or ugly and doesn't detract from the impression of the 15inch screen.
The advantages of having a Flat Panel monitor are obvious, with desk space being freed up for more computer accesseries. Monitors like this however often only last a few years because, unlike the traditional larger monitors, they do not have a hard protective panel over the screen.
At the same time as I purchased this monitor may parents bought a similar Flat Panel Monitor from a different company and within 3 months had to take it back because pixels began to fade and within days the whole screen was flickering and changing colours.
The Phillips 150S however has so far lasted me 3 years and is still in perfect working order. I have had absolutely no problems with it and it works like new.
The screen stands on a simple base, and revolves on its neck. The screen can be tilted back and forward to suit you, however this function is a little stiff.
Connecting your monitor couldn't be simpler with just two wires, one being the power cable and the other slots into the back of the computer tower with two screws to secure the connection.
The buttons on the front of the frame are clearly marked so you can't go wrong and there is a wonderful "auto" button which adjusts the screen settings automatically. If however you are unsatisfied with the auto settings the menu button is easily located to the left of the power button. This button is also used to select the option you want to change. Simple scroll up and down using the buttons with arrows showing direction.
The menu consists of: Language, Adjust postion, Brightness and Contrast Video Noise Adjust colour OSD Settings Product Information Reset to Factory Settings.
The left and right arrow buttons move the levels for each setting, and when you are done simply select the "close main controls" option at the button of the menu.
The resolution of the product is 1024x768 @ 75HZ
I have had a good experience with this product and am still enjoying great quality. I fully recommend the monitor and hope that you have an equally pleasing experience with it.
Advantages: A space-saving, valuable flat-screen 15" TFT monitor. Disadvantages: Screen gets bright if you're higher than the monitor; gets dark when you're low, balanced when you're on eye-level.
