Since I work at home, I've had my fair share of these CRT Monitors that make you tired, dry-eyed and suffer from eyestrain (reduces your time watching the screen).
Bought this monitor from PC World two years ago; never had any problem with it since. The price was £299.99 and I added a three-year insurance on it (one-year on manufacture's guarantee).
My desk is 33 inches long and this 150S monitor is 30 inches away from my nose, but if I still had that CRT monitor, it would've been 20 inches away. So, I gained an extra 10-inch distance for the sake of tiredness and eyestrain and now I can work longer than I usually did with that old CRT BOX.
It's perfect for watching DVD movies on your PC, playing games or other graphical work. It's powerful enough to work on a 60hertz mode (refresh rate), with a resolution of 1024x768 Desktop screen size (pixels), the image is smooth and it is quite different than 40hertz (or less) CRT monitors.
This monitor comes with a power pack (transformer) to suit the monitor's power and wattage needs.
The monitor itself has a power-on switch with dual-colour LED (green, orange). It has a MENU button to allow the user to set the brightness, contrast and colour.
Adjustments of the screen "position" can also be accessed from this menu, but you cannot adjust the screen "size", as it is already set by factory-default (leaving 1.5mm from screen edges).
The monitor is fully adjustable; you can tilt it from left to right, up and down. The cable that connects to the PC is 1.5 meters, long enough if you like to reach your system at arm's length (on desk or below).
If this will be your first TFT monitor, it will be a little weird when you first use it, then you will forget you ever had a CRT monitor (your eyes will learn something new). Work or play with plenty of fun (depends on what the fun is about).
Comes with a Monitor Driver CD, but it's up to you whether you want to install its driver or not. Otherwise, Windows will recognise it as a "default" monitor without taking advantage of its capabilities.
Enjoy hours of fun without worrying about your monitor's heat (power pack). It gets warm, but not warmer than warm. It's suitable for long periods of use.
Get rid of your BIG BOX and replace it with this one. You deserve some comfort.
