Advantages: The unique tip, Power and steam, auto shut off... Disadvantages: None to mention
...The PhilipsGC 4340 is a clear-cut steam iron which has a unique tip so ironing is made easier for those rigid to reach places on some clothes. This iron is superb and well worthy money. I have used the iron a few times and can say that its quite easy to use compared to the iron we had before this one. I'm comparing it on the basis that the iron we had before had a load of different setting for ironing which I found very confusing. In the past I've bought other irons and they haven't lasts for a long time my last iron (PhilipsGC4340) was on its way for good five years of use. The iron itself is very attractive the design is great. When switched on it let you know that the iron is switched on. Also if you leave the iron it has a setting to automatically switch off. The 2400W power is remarkable. I would say - this is nothing but the best....

Advantages: Long cord. Plenty of steam. Reasonable price. Disadvantages: Quite heavy. Water tank needs regular filling. No auto shut-off.
...After a lot of research into what iron to buy for our budget (£40) I decided to buy PhilipsGC3232 EasyCare iron. I bought it from Curry's at £39.99. Prices online and high street stores are all around the same mark give or take a couple of pounds.
So.. the iron.
My first comment is how easily it glides due to Philips Careeza soleplate which glides easily over all types of fabric that I have been able to test in my home.
The water inlet is rather large (in comparison to irons I have used) with very little risk of spilling water when filling up. Although quite messy if you add too much water and need to it empty out.
It has 3 metres of cord which, for me, is more than enough to manouvre the iron freely across the board (and to reach to the door way so I can watch T.V. while doing the chore!) The cord length is a little harder...

Advantages: lightweight, easy to use, cord storage, durable Disadvantages: none as yet!
...I bought my GC2110 Steam iron last year when I decided it was time to retire my old iron, which wasn't really doing what I needed it to do. I had seen these Philips irons around for quite a while and had always thought that I would like to buy one as they are a very good and well known brand, long lasting and does the job. This iron gives you great value for money. I paid around £15 for mine and it came with 6 months guarantee if it broke down, which it didn't.
It has a streamlined design and comes in a range of different colours and slightly different styles depending on the one you go for. The performance so far has been excellent and the most important thing to me besides the fact that it works is that its not too heavy so for elderly and/or disabled people this is perfect.
It has a range of features, such as integrated...

My experience of this type of steam machine is mostly negative.
This iron has several disadvantages: firstly it is big and bulky, think about where you will store it and if you have to move it to do your ironing. I have not found an advantage for... more
This is the best iron I have ever used. With Ionic Deepsteam, spray function and vertical steam boost it really does remove all the creases. Its design is very "funky" and I particularly like the sharp point which makes it very easy to to get into the... more
