If you want to try out wap for FREE and at the same time get up to 600 FREE text messages a month, get yourself to www.genie.co.uk and order up a FREE Genie sim card from the mobile shop. Genie uses the BT Cellnet network so you also have access to their links for traffic delays etc. I get loads of junk email and about two weeks ago this offer was in one of them. I have been curious about wap but hadn?t really heard a lot to its advantage so I have delayed in getting a wap phone. However, I do send a lot of texts so I decided to check the offer out.
I have been a member of the Genie site for over a year as my first phone was a BT Cellnet one. So I had used the site often enough in the past to send free texts and obtain Genie alerts as text messages to my phone. As this is not an opinion on the Genie site I won?t go into details ...

Advantages: Unlimited text and wap! Disadvantages: Sometimes fails to work! Also, 50p to other networks!! ARRGH!
Unlimited text messages and unlimited wap galore! The sim card only costing a mere £1. You could either keep your existing mobile, pay monthly or pay as you go. The prepay offer does not include any free minutes like the pay monthly.
Fantastic offer! So I leaped at this brill opportunity and logged onto their site at 'www.genie.co.uk/shop.'
A-ha! I found the prepay sim and put it into my basket and ordered it. I got an e-mail thanking me for my order. Then the following day I got an e-mail stating that my payment from my debit card was being declined by my bank. They suggested I made and input error when I placed my order but I'm sure I didn't because I sent off for two Sim cards on the same day but on separate order forms. Both of my orders were declined. This offer was going to close quite soon so I placed an order by ringing ...

Advantages: Free text messaging, cheap Disadvantages: Non-standard calls are expensive
After a mate bought a genie phone I was unsure about what it was all about so I thought it was worth a look into as my current BTCellnet tariff was costing me a fait bit each month.
I am a member of genie online, basically there is FREE SMS there for me, and FREE text updates on football etc. so I knew the site well, and I knew what to expect. Clicking on the ?Shop? icon on the genie homepage I was sent straight to the shop homepage, and was pleasantly surprised that the words ?text messaging? were accompanied with the word ?FREE?. Yes, FREE! On my BTCellnet tariff I paid 10p per text message, which was often not used in favour of the FREE SMS services such as Lycos on the web, as it does add up and get very expensive!
The genie website is extremely easy to use, has bright colours alerting you to the links which are important ...
