Philips' HDD 1620 is a sleek and small 6gb mp3 player. It looks nice and feels nice with many different advantages. The first notbale feature on the player is its touch sensitive scroll bar. This scroll bar lets you navigate through the menus and change the settings instantly with the upmost of ease. Also the skip track buttons are touch sensitive. This is all very well , but if you press them too many times the players stops and has to catch up with its self which is annoying to say the least. Aswell as it having a habbit of locking up if you forget to put the hold lock on as soon as the player enters your pocket your skipping tracks which is also another annoying quality of this player. The battery life according to Philips is 18 hours and i have to say thats utter rubbish , i dont think i have got mine past 9 hours. The battery life is absolutley horrendous. The player offers very high quality sound which is probably one of its best features. The software that comes with the player is very simple to use and works fantasticly well in synchronisation with Windows Media Player. I have found that this player although it has its faults is priced fairly reasonabley but does have its down sides. I believe there are better players on the market but this certainly does have some very nice features , like the scroll bar with the fancy lights. The buttons on the side are easy to get too and i dont find awkward but some people have said to me they would find it awkward. The players charges fully in 4 hours which is rather fast , but still they battery doesnt last much longer. On the whole im happy with this player simply because it looks and sounds great. Only downsides being the battery life the other faults i mentioned earlier are very minor.
