This product fills me with completely mixed feelings. The player has several features; MP3 playback, picture viewer, voice recorder, touch sensitive 'intuative' controlls and noise cancelling headphones. When I first purchased this player I was very happy with it. It looked very good and synched my music easily. However, it crashed on the first day, meaning I had to reload all my music and re-customise the firmware settings.
After three months the player broke completely, amazon were happy to send me a relpacement after philips turned me down. The replacement product has been fine, but as a product i feel it performs very badly. The screen is small and too cramped to view pictures or information easily. The biggest problem I ave with the HDD1620 is that it has no support for WMP11, music simply doesnt transfer properly, and philips still havent released new frimware.
When music is on the player its a different story. Navigation is easy, if not a bit slow, and sound quality is very good. The 6gb capacity is ok, and allows a large amount of music to be stroed.
Altogether a player with good features, however lacking good support and design.
