I think that the Philips GoGear SA1942 4 GB is a very good alternative to other popular MP3 players such as the Apple Ipod. As I have experienced a range of MP3 players I feel that I am able to review this item from a position of experience.
Sound Quality: The default sound for this device is excellent. Also there are many options to change the EQ properties of the sound. The user caan choose from a range of EQs provided by the product such as "Rock" or "Jazz" or they can create their own.
Ease Of Use: The funtionality of it's screen options are simple, easy to understand and to follow. However the button interface is a fraction too small and I can often accidentally press 2 buttons at once or the wrong button entirely.
Look and Design: For the money you pay for this device. It's design is stylish and very easy on the eyes. Its backlighting is a modern feature and makes the text on the screen nicer to read.
Range of Features: Again, for the money you pay, very good. I was especially impressed with the sound options I mentioned above. Also the easy charging of the battery via USB is extremely useful and convenient. I remember a time where I used a MP3 player which required AAA batteries which turned out to be more expensive than you would expect.
Value for Money: Excellent value for money. Have had this product for 6 months and no problems except for broken headphones.
Durability: Other than the headphones breaking (which is the only bad thing I can say about it) this product is very durable compared to other MP3 players.
