The machine has a removable jug for water which is labeled for single and double cup use, and will require refilling after each cup, although this is a bit of an annoyance, ... ...much water as it needs. I have found however that this can start to leak with repeated use.
The machine comes with 2 removable 'pod' holders which clip into the machine securely, these of course are dishwasher safe and with save your fingers from being burnt trying to remove the pod.
At the front of the machine there are only 3 buttons, the centre button 'quickboil' heats the water, with a flashing light. When the water has boiled the light becomes ...

Advantages: Simple to use, very little mess Disadvantages: Pods can be expensive. Water can collect under the machine
...what flavours you like - Philips do a "tasting" selection which helps but I would suggest trying the pods by using them as tea-bags. Because of the way that the coffee is compressed within the pods it is sometimes necessary to "steep" the pod for a while but the results work very well.
Before making any coffee make sure that you have a mug that fits under the spout on the machine and also holds the double cup. The single serving looks great in a ... ...you will need to use two pods.
Ebay auctions give access to the full range of accessories such as cups. frothers, storage tins etc., and even has the odd machine at a low price.
Senseo also now produces a tea-bag, milk and all sorts of "weird" items that might add to your experience but probably will not change the taste of the coffee.
All in all a great machine and, provided you have the storage space to buy in bulk, the coffee can be quite cheap. ...

Advantages: quick, easy, and delicious coffee Disadvantages: coffee pods can be expensive
As a big drinker of coffee i thought it was about time i purchased a decent coffee machine, so off i went down to Argos after a bit of research and bought myself a senseo coffee machine. I had heard good things from a number of sources and was eager to try it out.
So i got home and unpacked the machine and in a matter of five minutes i was sat down enjoying a cup of extremely tasty coffee!
But anyway just going back a few steps the coffee machine ... ...one and two cup filter which fits either 1 or 2 coffee pods depending on the amount of cups required, the machine has to initially be purged with water to clean it out this is however a very simple process and is completely automated.
From personal experience wanting a full mug of coffee i have played with the machine to find the best setting this is using one coffee pods but pressing the two cup button. This will give a full mug of coffee with ...

Advantages: No messy coffee grounds to clear up, easy to use Disadvantages: coffee pods can be expensive
I like this machine. It makes a nice cup of coffee very quickly and with little fuss. You simply fill the water container, switch it on, put the coffee pod in and once it has heated you simply put your cup under and hit the switch. It is easy to clean afterwards with the components coming apart easily and what I really like about it is no coffee grounds to clear out afterward, you simply throw away the coffee pod like a tea bag. Douwe Egberts who ... ...of speciality coffee rather than just the medium or dark roast that they started out with, so you get a nice choice of coffee to try. Also the supermarkets have now started to produce their own coffee pods for all machines like these, so I guess that prices for coffee pods may become a little cheaper. When I first bought the machine, I was disappointed with the small cup of coffee it made, only half a standard cup and initially I was filling one ...

Advantages: Easy to use, makes great coffee Disadvantages: 1 cup serving is small
I love this machine. It makes good coffee quickly and easily. Just fill the resevoir and in about a minute the machine is ready. Pop in a pod and press go, 1 cup of coffee. The pods, made by Douwe Egberts are availbale in a range of tastes, including a decaffienated option. They look similar to a teabag. I have seen them in all the large supermarkets.
When finished just remove the bag, there is no complicated cleaning involved.
The only disadvantage ... ...the machine are just not big enough for me. I prefer a large mug. This is not a problem as there is a 2 cup option which fills my mug perfectly.
Some may prefer the coffee hotter than the machine makes as the water does not actually boil but in my opinion it is ready to drink.
This machine takes the guess work out of making coffee and delivers a perfect cup every time. ...
