Advantages: Can't really think of any Disadvantages: It makes bad coffee
I should warn you all now that I am a coffee crazed madman and that this device was a birthday gift.
Looking at this device you can get some information about the quality of coffee it will produce quite easily before you try its coffee.
Producing coffee at a of pressure of 10bar (10 times atmospheric pressure) is rather low for an espresso machine. This means that it will produce less rounded coffee that relies on the brute force of its overall ... ...produce less well rounded coffee than the 19bar machine I also own, in comparison the espresso is feeble.
Espresso should be made using water at 92degrees C, this machine boils the water and burns the coffee. This is not a good thing. Espresso should not just taste bitter and be filled with caffeine. It uses a 1.475kW filament to heat the water, this is less than your average kettle. The other down side is that the device doesn't produce steam for ...

Advantages: Yummy coffee and very stylish!! Disadvantages: Coffee Pods are a bit pricey, as was the machine itself!
I first saw the Philips Senseo Coffee machine advertised on TV. It was round about Christmas time and I was stuck on ideas of what to get my Mum and Dad who seem to have everything going!!
The colour and style of the machine originally attracted my attention - the blue colour goes perfectly with my parents kitchen!! Of course this was not the only reason to be attracted to the machine. With promises of freshly brewed creamy coffee, I decided to ... ...machine is quite large but fits into a surprisingly small space (it is not too wide and relatively tall so fits in a narrowish gap!). It is sleek looking and really does look great. It's available in a few different colours -blue, black and white! It's easy to clean with dishwasher safe removable parts.
Is it worth the money?
At £49.99 (from Argos), I certainly think so (if you like coffee of course!!) - the coffee is really yummy and has that ...

Advantages: Quick to use Disadvantages: Noisy, small water reservoir
Philips have the design of this coffee maker down to a tea. It looks great in any kitchen.
Its so easy to use, just get a pod, fill up the reservoir and in hardly anytime at all you have a steaming hot mug of coffee
So why then does the novelty wear off so soon.
It is just a hassle. The water hold just enough for two batches so if you have a large family or in a rush it ain't often that quick
The machine drips long after you have got you have ... ...much more than necessary.
The pods are still not widely available so don't bank on being able to get a regular supply
Within a fortnight of purchase it was at the back of the cupboard.
Yes the coffee tastes better than the instant stuff but Tescos have a bigger range of jars ...

Advantages: Qucik, easy to use, coffee is delicious Disadvantages: Coffee not piping hot, only uses Douwe Egbert coffee
This machine is classy looking, makes good, creamy coffee quickly and easily, and requires little cleaning and maintenance.
Fill the water reservoir and press start, the water heats quickly and the coffee pours automatically, just remember to put the cup under the spouts.
The Douwe Egberts 'pods', i.e. coffee bags, come in a variety of strengths inc decaffienated. Some of the bigger supermarkets are already stocking them, but the rest will catch ... ...a flush.
The disadvantage for me is that the coffee isn't hot enough and the cups are too small. But I can live with the heat issue as the coffee is GRReat and I can always use two 'pods' for a mug of delicious creamy coffee in a minute. ...

Advantages: Quick to make and very tasty - easy to clean Disadvantages: bit expensive but worth it! coffee pods expensive

Coffee lovers this is for you *****
What it will cost you and tips on saving money...
I bought the senseo machine in France, as I am French and every member of my family own one of them and I every time I was going there I loved having of cup of coffee coming from the Senseo.
So last August I decided to bring back one for ... ...actually found it cheaper in the Uk and on Ebay, but it doesn't matter as I am really happy with it. I had the choice between different colours but I chose the blue one. I paid almost £50 for it but I got 2 free pack of coffee pods (they just look like tea bag but have coffee instead) and some reduction voucher on my future pods purchase (although I can only use them in France).
It is true that the coffee pods are a bit expensive in the Uk but you ...
