Advantages: Goodlooking Disadvantages: You can still buy this but only with black trim instead of cream.
We have had the PhillipsHD2603 toaster for several years. It is a traditional type of toaster, stainless steel with a cream trim and is slightly retro looking.
It has a warming rack, two extra wide slots with variable slot width , defrost function , one side toasting and a cancel button. I have never used the warming rack, the extra wide slots and the one side toasting, are useful if you like to toast teacakes, crumpets etc.
The defrost function is very useful if you have forgotten to take the bread out of the freezer. The dial on the front has seven settings for how well done you like your toast plus reheat, which is handy if someone interrupts you .Why does the phone always ring as you are making your toast ?

My kettle needed updating and I wanted something more stylish. You get that with this Phillips kettle. Looks smart and the silver isn't the type that leaves streaks and marks when cleaning or touching it.
It has the following features
High gloss metal jug kettle
3000 Watts
1.7 litres capacity
Removable washable scale filter
Water level indication
Cordless
360 degrees rotational base
3 level safety system
Boil dry protection
Easy to clean element
Illuminated switch surround
Stainless steel concealed element
Hinged/locking lid
Lid wide opening for easy fillin

This is important for several reasons; economy of use, speed and weight. The weight factor is important to me because I have trouble with my wrists and find lifting heavy items can be troublesome.
Another really useful, and extremely stylish, aspect of this kettle is the handle. It is of a slightly textured, black synthetic material and is a wonderfully rounded shape. It is also big enough to hold with both hands ...
