I HAVE VERY SENSITIVE SKIN AND COARSE DARK HAIR WHICH USUALLY GROWS BACK WITHIN 24 HOURS SO AFTER READING THAT EPILATORS REMOVE HAIR FOR UP TO 4 WEEKS I THOUGHT ID BUY ONE. IT COST £55.00 FROM THE MARSHALL WARD CATALOGUE BUT THEY ARE READILY AVAILABLE FROM LOTS OF ELECTRICAL STOCKISTS. ON MY FIRST ATTEMPT I HAVE TO SAY IT WAS PAINFUL I USED THE ICE PACK THAT COMES WITH IT BUT TO BE HONEST I DIDNT FIND IT MUCH HELP.IT TOOK NEARLY 2 HOURS OF STOPPING AND STARTING TO GET BOTH LEGS DONE BECAUSE OF THE PAIN BUT IT IS TRUE AFTER THE FIRST COUPLE OF TIMES IT DOES GET MUCH BETTER.AS FOR HAIR FREE FOR UP TO 4 WEEKS WELL I HAVE TO DO MINE TWICE A WEEK AND DOESNT SEEM TO GET EVERY HAIR YOU HAVE TO GO OVER THE AREA A FEW TIMES AND MINE STILL GROW BACK PRETTY... ...I bought this product with some trepidation after reading other reviews of epilators and having a relatively low threshold for pain! I saw it on offer half price so thought I'd just give it a go. I used it on my legs first of, which I had previously been waxing and found it quick and almost painless. I must admit I thought the other reviews were exaggerating the pain a little. However, I then tried it on my underarms which I had been shaving for years and it was agony! I could hardly finish epilating, but glad I made myself as after a few more goes, the hair got noticeably thinner and it is now relatively painless. The skin is left completely smooth, and the best thing is that you can epilate on much shorter hairs than waxing so there is no need to wait for hairs to grow long! ...I had been waxing for many years and following an article in a weekend newspaper decided to try epilation. I bought mine off Amazon when they were on special offer for £25 and it has more than repaid itself in not paying for expensive salon treatments. This does come with an ice pack which is meant to numb the pain, I found this made it clumsy to use, but once I discarded that then it was a lot easier. I think because I have been waxing for so long that I have not found the transistion from waxing difficult and it is not painful. It is easy to use and I have used on legs, underarm and bikini line. When using on underarm, as the hairs are courser it does need to be cleaned with the small brush provided. The results are good although some of the really small hairs don't get captured.
