Advantages: Lots of Different styles from One Tool Disadvantages: None
My hair is straight and boring. I tried perms, potions and lotions with disasterous results. I had a set of curling tongs which in the 80's were great..... Remember those Farrah Fawcett flicks girls? I needed a product that was more up to date, more versatile. I half heartedly looked out whenever I was in any electrical department to see if I could find such a thing. It took a long time.
Some 4 years ago now I found such a product. It was the PhilipsGeometricks 6 in1 Styler. It was advertised in Argos for £24.99. When I saw the category for it on Ciao I was suprised. But a quick check in the Argos catalogue confirmed not only do they sell the Philips version but several more besides, typically now they're retailing at £19.75. Now they are sold with a storage pouch and hair clips.

Advantages: It is very easy to use and change the attatchments Disadvantages: The locking mechanism doesn't always work
I don't like my hair, i never have. I have straight, shoulder lenght, mousey brown hair. It is completely lifeless, apart from a couple of silly little kinks in it.
Over the years, i have tried lots of things, to try and liven it up a bit, but to no avail. Perms drop out after a couple of weeks, proving to be a waste of money. I needed, a quick fix solution.
Instead of buying a crimper and curling tongs, seperate, i looked for an appliance that could do both, or more.
The PhillipsGeometricks, is a six in one styling kit. I was drawn to this particular one, because it offers a lot, which i will get to in a minute, and it was under £25. I bought it out of a catologue, and payed £23.99 (Littlewoods), but Boots sell it for £21.99, making it even better value.
The product.

Advantages: has 8 different attatchments for different styles Disadvantages: heat up time is too long and not high enough
i was really excited when i bought this straightener/curler as i thought it was cheap and it had many different uses. the book enclosed was very handy as it showed how to create different effects and was an easy to use guide. BUT i was quite disappointed... firstly it took ages to heat up, roughly about 15 minutes, which although it says so on the box, its too long if you're in a rush to go out. it shows when it is heated by a little dot turning red, which is good, and had a little stand to stop it from touching the floor. secondly, the temperature isnt very high, and it didnt work well with my full hair. the only gadget that worked well was the smallest curler! i wouldnt recommend it to tthose who have thicker hair, but it might work with those of you with thinner hair. i've tried other brands, and they seem to work much better!! ...
