Philips HQ6675/16 Reflex Action

I received the Philips HQ 6675 Reflex for my birthday (last year) !

In the box I found the next items:

- The device itself
- A piece of paper with some advertising about extra products, and about the fact that for optimal shaving results you should replace the shaving heads every 2 years. (type: HQ55 Super Reflex)
- A power cord, unfortunately I didn't receive a device that holds the shaver for me and gives ...
...to the machine, according to Philips your body needs 3 weeks to adjust itself to the shaver. I think that the hairs will start growing in a different way or something like that.

I received the Philips HQ 6675 Reflex for my birthday (last year) !

In the box I found the next items:

- A piece of paper with some advertising about extra products, and about the fact that for optimal shaving results you should replace the shaving heads every 2 years. (type: HQ55 Super Reflex)
- A power cord, unfortunately I didn't receive a device that holds the shaver for me and gives it power. I just began shaving, so I don't need to recharge the battery yet.
- A big piece of paper (2.5 times an A-4) with guarantee and service information.
- Owner's manual. Its a small book with on the first page eight different languages that you can choose. ( English, German, French, Dutch, Spanisch, Italian, Portuguese and Turkisch .)
- A little black brusher with long hairs on it.
Every 2 weeks you have to remove the shave unit from the shave chamber and clean it. In the owner's manual you can find a picture tutorial with little text lines.
You must clean the shave heads every 2 months. They also made a picture tutorial for this in the manual.
You have to oil the shaving heads and the trimmer with sewing machine oil. Set the shaver on so it can get behind every spot.

I don't really like the cleaning job, there are a lot of small parts that need to be cleaned, sometimes they contain hairs or dust which make me sneeze. Everything will fall on the ground when this happens.

--The shaver--

It looks very strong and simple. I think that IF I would drop it, it would still function normally.

On the topside there are 3 circle shaped rotating metal plates. The knifes are assembled under these plates. Each of the plates is assembled on a moving square. If I press in the middle with my finger, a small gap will appear. This makes the shaving results better since you can shave around your jaw easily.

The on and off button is also very normal, its also the only button on the entire device. (if you don't count the slide button of the trimmer, but I will mention that later on in this review)

There is a light that will burn when you have to recharge the device. This light is located under the on and off button. It never happened to me because the battery didn't run out of power yet. (I only shave for about 10 seconds every session)

At the lower part of the shaver there is a gap where you can plug in the power cable. This can be done in 2 ways, so don't be scared that you blow it up.

On the back of the device there is a trimmer, you can open it (when the machine is running) by sliding the oval button with your thumb in the direction of the shaving heads. De-activating it can be done with the same procedure, but now do it backwards.

--Performance-
This is my first shaver, the only two brands that I've seen in the shops are Phillips and Braun (in The Netherlands), so It can be said with certainty that these things perform very well.

The first time that I shaved myself was very scary. I never did it before and it was a new experience for me to bring a machine so close to my lips with 3 rotating metal things. The noise also made it difficult.
After a while you get used to the machine, according to Philips your body needs 3 weeks to adjust itself to the shaver. I think that the hairs will start growing in a different way or something like that.

Battery: According to the manual the shaver needs a minimum of 8 hours to charge, but you may never charge it longer then 24. This is to prevent battery failure. When the shaver is fully charged, it has a cord-less shave time of 10 days. Whether this is 10 times 24 hours, or 10 shave sessions is not clear. I wont try it either because I want to save my battery.

Conclusion

This is a shaver for the early shaver. Its very simple, but unfortunately it makes a lot of noise. After I got used to that, it gives a perfect result!
