What it is:
Its a Shaver made by Philips. This particular one has a focus on The Williams F1 team. What they say is the shaver delivers excellent results like Williams F1.

What you get:
The shaver in a box, a mains charger for the battery, a user manual, a little cleaning brush and a 2 year guarantee (from Philips).

The Shaver:
The shaver is a mixture of black and white colours. It weighs about 6oz (150g approx). There are two big chunky grips on the side for the thumb and index finger. When holding it, it feels quite substantive and certainly fills your hand.

The Cut:
The shaver is equipped with 3 sets of shaving heads which Philips recommend are replaced every 2 years. These heads have the Philips 'Lift and Cut System' which means the shaver lifts the hair head up slightly before it cuts it, hence giving a smooth shave.
The heads also float individually of each other so they can all adjust according to the shape of your face and neck.

The Trim:
The shaver also has a spring released pop-up trimmer to enable the grooming of sideburns and moustache. This pops out when you require to use it and makes a fairly quiet trimming noise.

The Clean:
This does come with a dinky little brush to clean it but it can also be simply rinsed clean under running water.

The Power:
This is an electric shaver which can run off the mains and the battery.
It can be used straight off by plugging into the mains & shaving.
When charged, the battery will support a number of shaves.
Philips state that when fully charged, it enables shaving of up to 35 mins. I personally take about 2 mins to shave once a day. The first full charge (of about 1 hour) lasted me 19 days, so that makes it a little longer than they state.

The Indicators:
When charging, the shaver has 2 green 'charging' lights that come on, on the main stem. Once fully charged, they flash showing a full charge.
When the power is low, a red 'low power' light comes on to indicate the shaver needs a recharge. I found there was a noticable drop in noise and power just before this occured.

The Charger unit:
This is a small charger, like a mobile charger, that plugs into the shaver at one end and into a 2 pin plug at the other. You WILL require a 2 pin plug to use this charger, as this then plugs into the mains.

The price:
If you pop in to Argos they'll sell you one for £89.79. I looked around and found Amazon would deliver one for £48.20, and that included postage and packing. Thats a BIG price difference.

The 'Does it work':
All in all I am quite happy with the shaver. Its lasting nearly 3 weeks before it needs a recharge. It feels substantial to hold and is easy to use.
The shave is acceptable, not quite a babies bottom afterwards but certainly smooth though I do find by the latter end of a day the stubble is showing and can be felt. I'd like a shave that lasts fully the whole day but, Testosterone and all that (controls beard growth amongst other things), it gets a 4 stars from me.
