Advantages: The best wet shaver I have ever used...period Disadvantages: Honestly...absolutely none
I have had this shaver for 3 years now and not once have i need to sharpen the blades on the rotors...
Forget about buying the very expensive creams that you put inside to make it shave closer...you really do not need them. I found it does (very very nearly) just the job of a traditional wet shave just by using ordinary shave foam, or gel, or oil. In fact it will shave with any product used for traditional razor shaving!
...leave the blades running in hot water for about 30 seconds prior to use and it shaves like a dream.
The price tag is initially high and for an average male shaver (one shave per day) I have saved literally hundreds of pounds in blades (and not the expensive blades either!)
It does not nick or cut your skin, does not give rash or white lump spots. Does not pull or stretch hairs either.

It really is much better to use it wet, leave the blades running in hot water for about 30 seconds prior to use and it shaves like a dream.

I can still get a good 2.5-3 weeks shave without having to recharge in between. Its light and can easily travel with you. Easy rechargable light and does not take too long to recharge. The charger holder is made of plastic but its tough, durable and extremelly light.
Above all its a phillips. The shaver is very durable, reliable, clean and very easy shave. It fits very well in the hand. In fact its a pleasure to shave with it. I purchased mine on sale from Ģ100 to Ģ70 and it really was worth every penny. Even if you purchased at Ģ100 it really is still worth it considering you wont need to buy a razor blade again at a ridiculous price tag of Ģ6-8 for 4 blades of the newer razors.
It has a side burn clip that is detachable and is very good quality and precise. Very easily cleaned as the top of the shaves detaches to make sure it can be thoroughly cleaned.
One tip if you do use traditional razors and you want to cut down on buying blades is this....and it does work:
To re-sharpen your blades perform this just before you shave each time. Take your blade attached to the handle, place blade against a mirror and lightly move your blade in short strokes up and down the mirror for about 10-15 seconds. E Voila you have a fresh blade that is good enough for another shave and you can keep on doing this until the blade wears down...save yourself a fortune! After such a money saving tip it would be great if you rate my review...thank you.
Advantages: Nice and close Disadvantages: Where to buy the sachets.
Well I needed a new electric shaver, I do prefer wet shaving but with one thing and another it is not practical.
Been using a Remington shaver for a few years, it was ok, but needed new heads, and at nearly Ģ30.00 I thought I would go looking for a new shaver.
I was taken by the Phillips Cool Skin range, which allow the user to use wet or dry, with the added bonus of a built in Moisturising shaving system. I opted for the HQ7782 the top of the ... ...charger base that plugs into your shaver socket in the bathroom. It has a handy LCD display to show how much battery is left and when to charge.
Its also easy to clean, after each shave wash it under the hot tap for about 30secs, and its clean, they recommend once a week to clean the heads off with the supplied brush.
The thing Iike best about this shaver, and thats only after a few shaves is the Moisturising Shaving System, the shaver comes with ...

Advantages: Quick charging (less than an hour to fully charged), close shave (almost as close as a wet shave) and Waterproof (I actually found it helpfull and more comfortable to shave in the shower) Disadvantages: It's not the cheapest electric shaver out there and the sachets of gel/mosturiser can be expensive in the long term.
I'm in a difficult position, as I struggle with wet shaving. It brings me out in a rash and even looking at a razor blade tends to make my neck bleed.
At the same time, electric shavers are (or at least have been) a real chore as I tend to leave it a few days and end up with two or three days growth at a time. In the past, my electric shaver wouldn't hold enough charge to finish the job and didn't give a particulary good shave.
For this reason ... ...and not being really happy with either result. Well, this was until I came across an advert for this Cool Skin. It's an expensive piece of kit and I hmm'd and haa'd before purchasing via Amazon - the cheapest price i've seen on-line (they're about the Ģ150 in Boots).
I am so glad I decided to make this purchase in the end.
The batter life is phenominal - a first charge of about two and a half hours and a fortnight later of shaving every other day ...

Quick review of Philips HQ 7782 COOL SKIN
I received this as a xmas present to replace my 30 year old Philishave with a modern battery/waterproof model. I am a regular wet shave guy who occasionally, for convenience, uses an electric shaver.
This gives the worst shave - ever: even worse than using disposables.
I give up after 15 minutes or so of trying to get a smooth shave - it is useless: it is not close on smooth surfaces and hopeless at getting into dimples, under the nose or near the ears. It's back to the old Philishave for me. ...
