I will have to admit it took me a good four days to unwrap the razor and give it a go and when I did I was very surprised at how close a shave it gave me. It was very easy to set up and looked very impressive with it's base for charging and sleek silver design it was ... ...is a top brand in Philips and although I have only had it for a short while it seems a really good buy. I have recently seen it sold on eBay for Ģ50.00 so defiantly worth checking out.

My Experience -------------------
Shaving what a pain in the bum but all us guy's have to do it if we want to look clean and fresh each. Well occasionally I will let it all grow through because the thought of digging out the razor and standing in front of the mirror for ages just doesn't appeal when I have two babies at my feet moaning for constant attention. Up until a few weeks ago I had been using the Mach 3 razor but my wife got me a present one day (Well think it was a hint) when she came in she presented me with the Philips HQ 9140 Soft Touch. I was over the moon many times I had threatened to treat myself to an electric razor but always decided against it.
I will have to admit it took me a good four days to unwrap the razor and give it a go and when I did I was very surprised at how close a shave it gave me. It was very easy to set up and looked very impressive with it's base for charging and sleek silver design it was every gadget lovers dream and as you will know having read my previous reviews I love my gadgets. Included in the box are the razor itself along with a mains charger, carry pouch, charging stand, protection cap and cleaning brush.
The razor when in use is very good smooth and soft with no harsh pulling as I had expected and it was very noticeable that there was no vibration at all in the razor. This razor has a lift and cut system that means when you pull it across the face it raises the hairs and cuts them all in one motion which is why I find it even more unbelievable that there is not pulling feeling. The three heads work very well together giving a great close shave nearly but not quite as close as my old Mach 3 razor but I would have to say if you like a completely stubble free chin stick to a hand razor.
Cleaning the Razor is very easy just remove the head and empty the hair container then rinse under the tap to remove and excess left behind. Whilst in operation I must say that this is a very quiet razor and can hardly be heard at all which is unusual as all other electric razors I have seen make so much noise. Charging the razor is very easy there is a quick charge button or leave on full charge in the cradle for an hour to get up to 30 days shaving out of the Ion rechargeable battery. The easy rubber grip handle is very comfortable to use whilst in operation and there is a warning light when the battery is starting to fade.
This razor is also brilliant at following the contours of your face especially when going under the chin as the head seems to adjust to the exact contour of your face and cut accordingly. In this department I must say that I find it much better at finishing your shave around the nooks and crannies. You also have no risk of those nasty little nips that can occur when shaving those sensitive areas. (On the face I mean) lol

Price ------- My wife bought it for me and it was Ģ69.99 which for the standard of shave and considering that a Mach 3 set of 4 blades costs me Ģ8.99 a time is very reasonable. It is a top brand in Philips and although I have only had it for a short while it seems a really good buy. I have recently seen it sold on eBay for Ģ50.00 so defiantly worth checking out.

The shave is good and the contour following is amazing and I tend to use it twice a week just to keep the beard from appearing and have a good hand shave once a week to keep myself feeling fresh. I do find that the benefit of using the electric razor over the hand razor is the noticeable lack of skin irritation that can be a real problem for me at certain times of year not sure why does anyone know?
