Advantages: Does almost anything for cooking. Disadvantages: Washing up!
...Just recently my very old Magimix finally gave up the ghost after many mixes. After a quick reccy through the ‘Littlewoods’ catalogue (I don’t get out much) I decided on the PhillipsCucina as a replacement. What a machine, the only thing it doesn’t do is wash itself! I have made apple juice out of the wrinkly fruit that no-one would eat, fresh orange juice, carrot juice, chocolate banana smoothies, cakes, bread. I’ve grated cheese & carrots, made breadcrumbs, mixed stuffing, omelettes, pancake batter. I’ve sliced tomato and cucumber, mixed up delicious coleslaw … the list is endless. Drawbacks? You do have to wash it up and, having a large family, the bowl could be bigger but it really is so much more versatile than my old one so I’ll put up with that. Oh the joys of Christmas, I can look forward to making up my own cocktails now!...

...A basic coffee machine, that is reasonably priced and will do the job if you plan to use it occasionally or cater for quite a few guests. I find that the coffee burns if left in the pot to remain hot... which is not nice. I decided to try something a bit cheaper by choosing this model as a replacement to my previous coffee machine, which I believe was not the smartest thing to do. However, I still use the Cucina everyday, but only at minimum capacity as it is not worth keeping the coffee warm if it doesn't taste good when you come to drink it.
For everyday use, and if you drink a lot of coffee, look for a model that has a thermostat and if that means paying a few £ more I think you should definitely do so.
It is a Philips so I do expect it to last and it hasn't shown signs of any problems so far ( I've had it for 3 months now)....

I bought this from Amazon to replace a Russell Hobbs Simply Smoothie 12620. I'll review that later too because it was pretty rubbish! I use a blender every day at least once so my needs are quite demanding.
