I bought this smoothie maker a couple of weeks ago, and am very happy with it. It's a nice design with a brushed aluminum base and simple dial. I use it to make fruit, yogurt and ice smoothies, however, you can use it to make margaritas, ice-blended coffees, milk shakes and even soya milk!! (I will explain later). The jug is made of glass, not plastic and can hold up to 1.25 litres. You can put the glass jar, the lid and measuring cup (which fits on the top of the lid) in the dishwasher (however, not the removable blade). There is a separate filter that you can put in where the measuring cup is kept (not in photo, but it would be in the centre of the jug). This allows you to put fruits that contain seeds or skin that you don't want 'blended' in your smoothie. By using the filter you can also make soya milk! You have to soak the soya beans first then put in the filter to be 'ground' up with water. There are three different buttons: Smoothie, Ice and Pulse. The Smoothie button is for smoothies (fruit, ice, milk, yogurt etc). The Ice button allows you to make crushed ice (for margaritas and other cocktails). And if you want 'shaved' or 'snow' ice, then use the Pulse button. Once you have chosen one of the buttons, you can also turn the Min/Max dial to increase or decrease the power (750w). The manual also says that you can make soups, batter and sauces, but I haven't tried this personally. Included is a small 59 page book by Jason Vale, called 'The Juice Master' which includes many recipes for smoothies. I haven't tried any yet as I tend to just make things up depending on what's available. This is a very high quality, well made product which is hard to fault.
