Advantages: the best sound an connectivity on the market for the price Disadvantages: no optical connection, but its a 2.1 anyway
...se the sound quality is exceptional especially for a 2.1 system, hdmi upscaling (1080i) is very good and a noticable improvement in picture quality, the surround sound effect works very well it has an effect called ambisound that sends out the sound all around you an bounces it off the walls, it sounds very good
the active sub is superb with deep clear bass an theres loads of connections for other devices including USB, IPOD dock, hdmi, digital out, 2x aux inputs, scart an tv input.

Advantages: Stylish, space-saving design and 1080p video upscaling Disadvantages: expensive price
...PhilipsHTS 8100 is very stylish. Physical design is very impressive and attracts most buyers. The best thing about it that distinguishes HTS 8100 from other home theater systems is that you don't have to spread wires all around. Therefore it dose not make a lot of mess. You can find some Home Theater System in the market which have wireless rear speakers. But in this system saves you room plus every thing is in one system even the dvd player is built in. It has impressive sound and upscaling video quality (1080p). There is downgrade to it that it dosent have alot of audio inputs. It is good for movies but not so great with music, So you have to comparize with some things when you are saving space and trying to put most in a small product.
But it fills your most needs and is something new in the market. The look is what attracts...

Advantages: Great Sound, Great looking and good price Disadvantages: No stands for the front speakers
...If your looking for a good home cinema system for a good price then this is definatly worth considering.
The PhilipsHTS3115 looks good, delivers a great sound and on top of that is a great buy with prices running at around £150 - £180. Your rear speakers also come with floor standing speakers which means you dont have to have them sat on the floor or go out and buy ugly looking stands that dont match.
This unit offers 500W RMS output, giving you a great sound quality. And also has Dolby Pro-Logic II which is great for enhancing the sound from a normal TV signal, so you can watch all the movies etc that are on normal TV or sky with the sound being transmitted through all 5 speakers.
On top of this, other features include built in FM and AM radio, DivX and Jpeg compatability, allowing you to display all your photographs from a digital...

This is an amazing bargain. I was replacing an old hifi but thought I would get a surround sound system. Not only does it play cd's and dvd's but will play from an MP3 player or a memory card (using a reader) via usb or from a headphone socket on an... more
We made the decision to splash out on a full home entertainment package. This included a 46" Sony Bravia LCD, Sky HD, an X-Box 360 and obviously (I persuaded my wife) we needed a good home cinema set up. As our main room is pretty big and open, we didn't more
