PHILIPS HTS 8100 generating perfect sound!

Advantages: Brilliant DVD player and sound system combination
Disadvantages: slight overheating and sound distortion when volume is increased

This peice of equiptment is set up in my back living room, my main use for it is my xbox 360 and as an IPOD speaker, yes it does deliver brilliant sound from such a small device that would stun any small animal. You plug your ipod into a lead at the bach and change a minor setting and then your ipod songs play. This system is set up to my 42" ambi-sound philips TV the good thing is there is very little leads required other than a large one. And your big bass woofer can sit anywhere in your room and not make a difference to the sound quality. This system genererates alot of sound and is very much fun when playing xbox with it on full volume, however i recommend that you dont use it on full volume as when i do it sometimes smells as if it generates smoke which cant be a good thing. Maybe that is just mine, but it is understandable ...

Review of Philips HTS8100

excellent HTS system

Advantages: the best sound an connectivity on the market for the price
Disadvantages: no optical connection, but its a 2.1 anyway

se the sound quality is exceptional especially for a 2.1 system, hdmi upscaling (1080i) is very good and a noticable improvement in picture quality, the surround sound effect works very well it has an effect called ambisound that sends out the sound all around you an bounces it off the walls, it sounds very good the active sub is superb with deep clear bass an theres loads of connections for other devices including USB, IPOD dock, hdmi, digital out, 2x aux inputs, scart an tv input. theres not anything to fault about this product. the best 2.1 HTS on the market for the money well reccomended to any one who wants a 2.1 that gives great surround sound effect well done phillips a quality product 10/10 ...

Review of Philips HTS 6600

philips HTS 3100

Advantages: it makes a good ornament
Disadvantages: it frustrating looking at it cos it cost a fortune

I bought a hts 3100 and it stoped playing after just a couple of times using it. the dvd i bought, a dvd-r610 recorder, wont work either. i just took that out of the box and when i set it up it just keeps telling me there is no disc. it never played anything in it since the day it was bought. i am out a 1000 euros on the two of them without them even working. i bought a philips 32" flat screen the same time as these and it all cost 1750 euros, im just waiting for that to break down now. it makes me sick that companies can sell electrical equipment for such high prices and then they dont even work. i always thought philips was an expensive make because it was a good make. i couldnt have been more wrong. well i am going to fight to get a replacement or my money back because i dont think they should get away with it !!!!!!!!! ...
