I have been using a regular toothbrush for about 6 months. My electric toothbrush had given up on me and rather than buying a new one and the added expense of the brush heads I decided to just keep on using the regular toothbrush but then one day I decided I really did miss the ease and the precision of having an electric toothbrush so decided to start looking for a new one and as I was lucky enough to be in possession of an Amazon voucher, that was my first place to start looking and even though I looked at a couple of other places, it was Amazon that I ended up buying my Phillips Sensiflex HX 1620. Here are my thoughts on the toothbrush.
As I mentioned above, the toothbrush was brought from Amazon. As I had the voucher it made sense to get it from there but it is also available from places like Boots and Argos. The price that I paid for the model was £24.99. I thought this was a great price to pay but I know that it has since been reduced to an amazing price of £11.99. My previous toothbrush, also a Phillips model was more expensive than what I paid for this one but I just wanted something simple and my Amazon voucher covered the cost so I eagerly awaited its delivery.
The toothbrush arrived and I was soon to open the box. You will see that you get a toothbrush and a rechargeable base. There is a lot of product information on the box as well as a really detailed instruction booklet that comes with the product. I gave the toothbrush a charge before I began using it. The full time that it takes to charge is 16 hours and this will last you 25 minutes so I can get through most of the week without having to charge it up.
The toothbrush itself as well as the base is white in colour, on the toothbrush there is also a small amount of lime green running along it. The brush heads also have a couple of splashes of green in them as well. We are told by Phillips that the toothbrush that the duel brush head will create 15,000 brush strokes per minute so I was hoping for sparkling teeth after a few uses!
The toothbrush does not make too much noise when you are using it and I found that like my old toothbrush, you don’t need to apply any pressure when using it, the toothbrush just glides around with ease and you can feel the bristles of the toothbrush really getting to work on every little bit of your mouth. The brush is said to have duel action so that it gets teeth looking cleaner, quicker. After using the brush for about a week I could definitely feel the difference, my teeth felt smooth and I could see that all the plaque was being removed with ease. The toothbrush also cleaned all of my gums and this was important when selecting this model as I am prone to sensitive gums and something that was going to be brutal on my gums wouldn’t be any good but this is effective but yet gentle.
The toothbrush is a good find in my opinion, everyone is different but this met my needs well, a good price and it is something that doesn’t really hurt your gums. My teeth do look clean, I am not sure that they look whiter, I think that is something that is down to toothpaste and the foods that you eat amongst other things but as for my mouth feeling good as well as my teeth bring clean, I am really pleased with the results that it is showing.
I would be happy to recommend this model and it gets a 5 out of 5 from me
