I bought my Nike CD player about 2 and a bit years ago now as I biked to work every day and needed some help in the mornings to wake up! So I rigged my backpack with the little baby and off I peddled.
I bought it from Amazon for about £70 which both then and now, is quite a lot of money for just a CD player and not even a radio. But id had my fill of radio ones and got totally sick of them! For 2 whole years I have had no problems whatsoever with it and can do nothing but praise Philips and Nike for such a great little CDplayer.
The CD player is quite light but not very light but the sound quality is amazing when you have it on full bass etc. which makes up for the weight of it I think. And anyway, its good training!!
It comes with a carry case for on your arm for runner, although I have never used this as it is far to big and heavy for little old me to lumber around on my arm! But I can imagine this to be a good little extra if you are a bit bigger than me.
It also comes with a little gadget that plugs in between the headphones and the CD player itself where you can change the track, volume or turn it off which I found very helpful on my bike when you come to a junction, you don't have to take the headphones out every time to hear!!
It also came with a CD for the computer for you to burn your own CD's but I have never even taken it out the packet!!
The headphones are extremely comfortable and are the best I have ever seen or used. Unlike many cd players, my sisters Sony Walkman for example, they have the earphones as a single little black thing, now don't get me wrong they look great and much neater, but I have little ears and they keep falling out every time I move so the Sony was totally out the question for that reason. The earphones with this Nike are totally different. Like no others I have ever seen in my life!!! They are similar to the old-fashioned ones that used to go over your head (oh a cringe at those!!!) only, they go either underneath your chin or from behind your head. Both sound unusual ways to have earphones on, but it is so comfortable you actually forget you have them on! I find under my chin to be the most comfortable and I can remove them quickly if I have to. They are made from very soft plastic and are very bendy and therefore don't snap at all. They don't have the stupid cushions on the ear pieces but again have very soft rubber around them so they almost stick to your ear. But because they are 'looped' and sprung then they stay in place perfectly. (as you can see from the picture below)
The CD player is very simple to use with few functions on it. There is Play/Pause, Stop/Off, Next Track, Previous Track, Volume up and Volume down. There is also an Anti Shock feature which has never failed as it is made for sports I guess. You can also Lock the CD player when it is either on or off to save buttons being inadvertently pressed.
With all the new mp3 players out there now I suppose CD players have a limited life but I would have this any day (I'll eat my words soon!) The downside is that it only plays 1 CD at a time! Which is unlike MP3 Players and is a bit tedious if you are out on a long ride with 1 CD! I know this has MP3 Player under the title and i do have the right model here, but i don't think mine has an MP3 Player in it...but i may be wrong!!!
Unfortunately, the earphones have now packed in on me! But I am trying to get a new pair sorted out with Philips as I'm not one to throw money away for a new player while this one works amazingly well.
I cant really think what else to put on this review about it now!! If I have missed something out, then let me know.
Thanks for reading and please rate it so I know where to improve!

This sounds really good. I have never had a CD "discman". I know that there are a lot of MP3 players out there now, but I have to say, that if I get one it would probably be a CD player, I am not too keen on MP3 players at the moment, although I am sure that they will soon take over. Smashing review :-)
