Philips PET 704

Advantages: Great sound and picture, lightweight, 2.5 hour battery which is small and light! Great build!
Disadvantages: None!

...The PET720 is a new introduction to Summer 2006 from Philips. I saw this one in Argos for £149.99 so I tried it - and it was amazing! The picture is the best I have ever seen from an LCD screen - really good! And the sound - amazing even through the speakers it is loud enough to fill a room. As you would expect from Philips it looks great and has a great quality build. Playes almost everything and works great as a standrad DVD Player when connected to the TV. All in all an excellent buy. So far - No Problems. The remote is thin, palm sized, and easy to use. You get a car adaptor and ac/dc adaptor, however no carry bag, but I bought a Philips one for £19.99. Excellent! ...The Philips PET 720 portable DVD/CD player, got mine from Argos for £149.99 but you can find it on the Net for much less. As I unpacked it I thought it screamed quality and style, it comes with all the usual accessories you would get with any other portable DVD player but thats where the similarities stop, the picture is absolutely fantastic, the best by far on any similar device I have ever seen, the controls are well designed and positive, the sound is good but to really appreciate it you need headphones on, then it takes you into a whole new dimension, it's awesome, plenty of volume for so small an item and it has two headphone sockets which I found a big plus, all in all a great little Item.... My previous portable DVD player came free with another purchase and i hardly used it due to the screen quality being lousy so i'd pretty much been put off until i stumped for the philips, its very clear, colours (in comparison) are much more vivid, so much so that pictures i take i save to a cd and watch a slideshow of on this player when i visit friends or family. Sound quality has to be compromised in a unit of this size but i found it acceptable for movies, and quite loud enough for when in the car.
