A sleek but sturdy portable DVD player with up to 2 hours of battery life, good quality screen and speakers and mobile functionality. Recommended.
Appearance
The DVD player is very compact and attractive. It has a white outer shell and a black interior fascia. There is a flip up drawer on the bottom half where you put the DVDs in, which is opened by sliding the button on the front panel. It is smart and modern enough to be confident to use it on the train or in public generally.
Price
I paid £70.00 for the player a few months ago, but I strongly advise other to shop around as I understand it can not be bought for around £50.00. It is well worth either price in my opinion.
Operation
The buttons on the player itself provide rather limited functionality: Play, Pause, Skip, Forward, Rewind, Stop, Menu and AV Out/DVD. It is by using the remote control that the player comes into its own. In addition to the functionality available by using the buttons on the player, the remote provides the following: Set-up, Display, Subtitles, Audio, Zoom, Repeat and Angle.
The remote is rather small, and must be carried separately from the player, so I tend to leave it at home so as to not lose it when on the move. However, the buttons on the player do provide adequate functionality for this to not be a problem.
The player plays DVD, DVD+/-R, DVD+/-RW, DIV-X, MP3-CD, CD and CD-RW.
The player has a 7" TFT colour LCD display which is adequate, but other players on the market do have larger screens. The speakers are loud and clear, but there is also a headphone jack for when you can't use the speakers.
Battery Life
The manufacturer states that the player provides up to 2 hours playback, but I have found that it lasts a little longer on full charge. It is sufficient for one full film to play before the battery warning comes on.
In The Box
The following items were in my box when I bought my player:
1.DVD Player 2.Mains adaptor 3.Three-way audio-visual adaptor 4.Car power adaptor 5.Manual 6.Warranty 7.Remote Control 8.Battery (for the remote control)
