This razor is one of several used in my home. It is the cheapest of them and yet it is not significantly more abrasive than the others, whilst it lacks the absolute softeness and responsiveness of my more expensive Philips razors it still delivers a gentle shave and does not hurt compared to the other cheap electric razor it replaced.

It gets in quite close but again not as close as our most expensive razor the Philips PT870. It is functional and offers a more than adequate shave for all but the most refined of circumstances. I wouldn't use it if I were going to a wedding for example I'd leave that to the PT870 but the rest of the time when my razor isn't available I will borrow my dad's and its not had any ill effect on how my hairs grow yet.

It does leave a little bit of stubble as all razors do, particularly electrics but again does not quite get as close to the face as its more expensive Bretheren. That said for the price point I was expecting a little bit less and thus I have been pleasantly surprised that the gulf in class between it and the PT870 is only modest, in my opinion.

I think the big draw back of this machine is that it does not get as close to getting rid of all stubble as more expensive brands but then again thats why its priced as it is. It is definitely a good shaver and you can use before going to clubs with no fear that you still look like a hippie or a tramp and to be honest in all but the most delicate of social situations it will do the trick and no one will be able to notice much difference between it and more expensive models.

It lasts for about 3 to 4 hours in my experince so the battery life is also good in my opinion as you really aren't going to be shaving for much more than 45 minutes per shave even if your very pernickety about even the smallest hair.
