Full review
My Philips has become my little travel buddy, accompanying me on many of my home to university jaunts from Cardiff to Swansea and vice versa. Its so small and light and is always slipped into my bag for all my journeys, whether to block out screaming kids on the bus or to fill the quietness! (which isn't very often!)

My parents bought me this little mp3 as I needed a replacement for my broken Japanese imported one, and as an iPod was out of my price range and my dad already had the 1GB version of this one, and the 2GB was on offer in Argos for £60 this was the one we went for, although with any item that's on special offer I am always a little wary of the quality.
But there was no need to be wary, this thing is a little gem!

So its features:
Music
-------
Well being the main object of an mp3 player, I'd expect this to be on here! The 2GB memory enables the mp3 to hold over about 600 songs!
The music menu gives you the option of playing all songs, or choosing from artists, albums, genres or one of your own playlists, which are very easily made by pressing playlist when the song is playing to add it to your list, simple! I normally choose play all songs and then shuffle them so I get a nice cross section of songs playing out of the 362 I have on there at the moment. If you do decide to search for an artist it does tend to take a long time to scroll down to the name, especially if you have 400 songs and you want an artist in the middle of the alphabet. Sound quality is excellent, all songs are crisp and clear.

Photos
-------
You can store photos on here and make a mini photo slideshow, and surprisingly the photos come out pretty well on the small screen. It is best to change the photos to bmp though as jpeg images will make the people your pictures look like aliens, doesn't come out well at all!

Videos
---------
Play videos on your mp3, although frustratingly the files need to be in a smv format. Although no need to worry! Type in smv on google and you'll get a list of websites that can convert your files to this format. A pain but they do come out really well and quite clear on the little screen.

Radio
------
Listen to local and national radio stations through the player by using the player itself as an aerial. I find that the signal is not as good when travelling and it finds it harder to pick up local stations, but you can scan through the airwaves yourself for them or use auto-tune which will find them for you.

Recordings
--------------
I've found this useful on many occasions in university with the ability to record conversations, and lectures through the little microphone found on the side. It picks up sounds quite well and the quality is very good.

Settings
---------
The most important thing here is the equalizer, where u can change the type of sound you want. I always choose rock as I think it gives the best bass and roundness to my songs.
Then there are other options such as language, play mode etc

===============

Ease of Use
--------------
Extremely easy to use, everything is straightforward, there are only 4/5 buttons and only the arrows and play buttons are really needed to get you up and running. To download songs onto it you'll need to buy a USB cable, but then it is just a case of dragging and dropping onto the device into the right folder.

Look and Design
-------------------
I love how small, compact and uncomplicated the design is. There are only 5 buttons you need to use it, with volume on the side and a headphone and USB port at the bottom. The front is plain black with a 1.5 inch screen, and the back reflective silver, comes in useful as a mirror!
I've had mine for a year and a half and the only wear its showing is one or two small scratches to the back.
Battery life is excellent, I use it daily for my hour trips back and fore, I think it would probably last about 10 hours before needing to be recharged through the USB port.

+++++++++++

I'd thoroughly recommended this to anyone looking for an mp3 player. Just as good as an ipod but much cheaper and probably with more memory. The only thing that lets it down for me is when it tend to go slow when finding a specific artist but other than that I have no qualms with it at all! And 2GB for under £60, you cant go wrong!
