Advantages: Superb features for its price
Disadvantages: small screen, small (ish) storage

...At first glance, the Philips SA3100 digital audio player isn't really something to shout about, but upon closer look at its specifications, you will realize that its not a bad deal. For the price (around £50) its not going to burn a whole in your pocket and supports the usual video formats. With 2GB worth of storage you can actually store a whole feature length film on this, and still have room for about 500 songs. The features of the device is brilliant for the price but video playback is hindered by the small screen. Bottom line is, if you want something that can play videos and music and, buy an iPod. If you want this but on a tight budget, the Philips is an absolute must have.... Read review

...My Philips has become my little travel buddy, accompanying me on many of my home to university jaunts from Cardiff to Swansea and vice versa. Its so small and light and is always slipped into my bag for all my journeys, whether to block out screaming kids on the bus or to fill the quietness! (which isn't very often!) My parents bought me this little mp3 as I needed a replacement for my broken Japanese imported one, and as an iPod was out of my price range and my dad already had the 1GB version of this one, and the 2GB was on offer in Argos for £60 this was the one we went for, although with any item that's on special offer I am always a little wary of the quality. ...This is a great MP3 player as you get so much for your money. Not only can you listen to hundreds of music tracks if you choose the 2GB player, but you can also store your photos, store around 2-3 feature length movies (depending on how much music or how many photos you store) and save your favourite radios stations so you don't have to look for them everytime you want to listen to the radio. The software you need to put muic/photos/videos on the MP3 player also comes with it, in the form of a device manager and media converter, so you dont have to spend extra to put your stuff on it. Also, it comes with som white philips headphones which are stylish as well as comfortble to wear. This is a great buy.... Read review
