Advantages: great sound and clarity Disadvantages: not as sturdy as they first appear
...The first thing I am going to mention about these bad-boy headphones is their size. Don't think you'll be able to walk down the street listening to your walkman and not get odd looks. Wind resistance alone would be enough to put pay to that! When I took the phones out of the box, I was quite taken aback by the size (but in a good way) as each 'earshell' is about 3 inches in diameter and 2 inches thick. So you look like you have a massive pair of plastic ear-muffs on!!
Apart from their size, the PhilipsSBC HP840's (what a stupidly long name!) look fairly similar to most other headphones with a main support which connects each earpiece and an extra rubbery band which also connects the earpieces, but is designed to provide a close, comfortable fit around the head and is self-adjusting.
