Advantages: great sound and clarity
Disadvantages: not as sturdy as they first appear

...The first thing I am going to mention about these bad-boy headphones is their size. Don't think you'll be able to walk down the street listening to your walkman and not get odd looks. Wind resistance alone would be enough to put pay to that! When I took the phones out of the box, I was quite taken aback by the size (but in a good way) as each 'earshell' is about 3 inches in diameter and 2 inches thick. So you look like you have a massive pair of plastic ear-muffs on!! Apart from their size, the Philips SBC HP840's (what a stupidly long name!) look fairly similar to most other headphones with a main support which connects each earpiece and an extra rubbery band which also connects the earpieces, but is designed to provide a close,comfortable fit around the head and is self-adjusting. Advantages: LAST BATTERY IN MY LAPTOP LASTED 4 YEARS BEFORE I BOUGHT A REPLACEMENT THAT IS A LONG TIME
Disadvantages: COSTS ABOUT 30% MORE THAN BATERIES FOR OTHER LAPTOPS

...RECENTLY THE BATTERY IN MY SONY VAIO LAPTOP FAILED AFTER 4 YEARS AND I HAD TO BUY A NEW ONE. IT WAS PRICEY BUT QUALITY IS EXCELLENT AND 4 YEARS FROM THE ORIGINAL SEEMS LIKE A GOOD LENGTH OF TIME TO ME. WHEN I SAY PRICEY I AM BASING IT ON A FRIENDS COMPAQ LAPTOP WHOSE NEW BATTERY WAS ABOUT 30% CHEAPER THAN MY SONY. BUT HIS BATTERY ORIGINALLY ONLY LASTED 3 YEARS SO I SUPPOSE MY SONY BATTERY REPRESENTS BETTER VALUE THAN THE COMPAQ. ALSO MY VAIO LAPTOP IS BETTER THAN THE COMPAQ MY FRIEND HAS. SONY BATERIES SEEM TO LAST LONGER BUT COST MORE. WELL THAT ABOUT ALL I CAN SAY ON LAPTOP BATTERIES. LOOK OUT FOR MY REVIEWS OF OTHER SONY PRODUCTS... Read review
