Philips SJM2300H Car cassette adapter

Advantages: Great sound and picture, lightweight, 2.5 hour battery which is small and light! Great build!
Disadvantages: None!

...The PET720 is a new introduction to Summer 2006 from Philips. I saw this one in Argos for £149.99 so I tried it - and it was amazing! The picture is the best I have ever seen from an LCD screen - really good! And the sound - amazing even through the speakers it is loud enough to fill a room. As you would expect from Philips it looks great and has a great quality build. Playes almost everything and works great as a standrad DVD Player when connected to the TV. All in all an excellent buy. So far - No Problems. The remote is thin, palm sized, and easy to use. You get a car adaptor and ac/dc adaptor, however no carry bag, but I bought a Philips one for £19.99. Excellent! ...The Philips FW730C hi-fi incorporates a 3 disc CD changer, double cassette, FM Tuner and AV/DVD setting. Sound is very good especially the three level bass and 'incredible surround' settings. There are also rock/classic/jazz/techno and optimal sound settings. Switch on all 3 bass levels and rock and you've got some bass! It is relatively easy to use, with all the functions controlled by a 'magic menu'. The FM tuner has a RDS feature, letting you know what you are listening to and what type of programme it is, complete with scrolling text messages. The 3-disc CD changer is easy to access with a 'direct play' feature. Dubbing onto cassette is made easy thanks to the magic menu. Function-wise the Philips is lacking. Advantages: Allows you to listen to your mp3 player in your car
Disadvantages: Very Poor Quality Of Sound!

...I wanted to be able to listen to my iPod during car journeys and this adapter seemed the perfect job. Its slick white style compliments the iPod very well, and looks perfect. My friend had bought the very same product to use in her car, and the sound quality was very good! She bought it for £20 in an airport, so when I saw it on Amazon for just £5.00 I just had to buy it... however... The sound quality is unbearable in my car! The continual electrical buzz over the music, and the rattling of the cogs inside the cassette is dreadful. And any slight movement to my iPod produces a terrible loud crackle over the music. When i decided it was too bad to listen to, the darn thing wouldn't eject from my cassette player. Argh! I'm not too sure if it's just the mechanism of my cassette player in my car causing the problems, because this product... Read review
