I looked at a few different speakers, and to be honest, these were not the cheapest available, but i brought them because of the ... ...I like the so much i have even considered purchasing the next model up, that has a larger sub woofer and 5 speakers. This should also be considered by potential buyers as i believe it is not much more expensive, and if they are as good as these speakers they will definatly not disapoint you. ... more

I looked at a few different speakers, and to be honest, these were not the cheapest available, but i brought them because of the fact that phillips is a brand name that i trust. I like the so much i have even considered purchasing the next model up, that has a larger sub woofer and 5 speakers. Advantages: 2 Speakers, 1 Subwoofer . Compact . Very Good Value . Disadvantages: You may prefer a more powerful subwoofer for more bass .
I used to work in a warehouse that stocked these and all the other brands/models. I got bored one day and tried most of them out with my iPod to see which speakers were the best! I ended up with this Labtec Pulse 285 and here is why!

PhilipsSPA1300 2.1 Speakers.
PhilipsSPA2600 5.1 PC Speakers.

Don't be fooled by the 'seemingly' low 6 Watt figure. On paper 6 Watts may seem a bit weak next to the competitors but when tested among 5 other setups these speakers are very loud and even still very clear with volume at 100%. Don't get me wrong you can't start up your own nightclub with these but you get a lot more than you need for PC speakers!
In reality the only difference you notice between the price ranges was the amount of bass being produced from ...
