The Philips SPC 200N PC Webcam, I only recommend it as a budget camera! The Camera's User guide is VERY easy to follow - only two pages of instruction in each of 8 languages! Installation takes minutes. Camera (about 4X6X8 cm and as light as a feather) plugs into a USB so does not require an extra power supply. It is very robust, but being so light it tends to be dragged to the side by the weight of its own wire! Flat base so cannot be mounted onto a laptop or speakers. Looks just like the image on the box? Picture quality is painfully bad, and cannot cope with ANY movement, but most budget webcams are like that? Microphone not inbuilt but a massive one you have to keep right in front of your moth is included. An ideal webcam for beginners

Advantages: cheap, easy to install & set-up

difficult or highly amusing to your chat buddy on what he/she can actually see of you. Aside to the live video streaming you can also take snapshots and save them as picture files, make short video clips (ideal for Granny in Aus at Xmas) and lots of other fun stuff should your kids want to get creative. I would recommend this webcam for the beginner as it?s definitely not top of the range, is limited in what it can do but for £11.99 if you?re only going to use it on the odd occasion you can?t complain and it will perform how you want it to, but for the pro who isn?t camera shy, then opt for something a little more advanced that offer maximum features as it will be worth paying the extra for. The Labtec webcam...A bundle of fun

Advantages: Samll, light weight
Disadvantages: Some slip ups with the software

The Labtec webcam is literally a bundle of lightweight stylish fun. The camera is very small and portable. It comes in white and looks rather snazzy. The camera plugs into the USB port of your computer. This is quite handy, however the only complaint i would have is that the wire connecting the camera to the USB isn't very long. The webcam comes with a CD with software that you must install on it. The installation is very simple and straight-forward. The software is very good. There is a facility for taking pictures and varying length videos, and there is also a facility for making video emails. You can store you're pictures on the software and you can also view them.
