The phone itself is very neat. It is less than 6 inches long and weighs only 150 grams. The colour clearly varies because the picture shows a yellow phone but mine is described as night blue and is very stylish. The keys are the right size to press easily and quickly and the compass, menu, cancel, call and on off buttons are all very well placed to make it seen natural to use them. The screen layout is excellent. It always displays a handy clock on the left of the screen with the battery 4 segment indicator above it. Moving right from the battery indicator are message, answerphone, silent mode indictor and roaming indicators. They are all very easy to see. The next two indicators show if you are registered to your network and the reception your phone is receiving at present. I have to say that the reception is excellent. It is a 4 segment display and the reception is nearly always at 3 or 4.
It can store up to 90 names and numbers on the Sim Card and you can voicedial up to 10 people. The voicedial is superb and means E.T. could simply press up on the compass key for 3 seconds them say "Home" and it will start calling. This is excellent because it saves you going through loads of numbers or searching for the one you want. As well as this you can set up 8 speed dial numbers meaning you just have to press a number between 2 and 9 for a few seconds to make a call. I have found that I can have 10 messages stored at any one time then I have to remove one before I can receive another. Making a call is easy even if you aren't using any of the above features.
Messages are just as easy but incorporate a couple extra features. Not only can you send the 160 character messages as normal but if your are texting another Savvy user then you can choose to have one of 25 different icons to accompany the message. It only uses 3 characters worth of space on the message and if you choose an icon to send to a non Savvy user them they will receive the text equivalent. These Icons range from smiley faces to a dog to a palm tree. But there’s more! There are 13 pre-programmed messages so that you can send a common message without all that typing. Some good examples are : Happy Birthday! and I Love you.
Navigation of the menus are very easy as it is all controlled by the compass key and on travelling through the menus you will find the Extras. You get a very handy alarm clock for those that can’t get up in the morning. There is also the ever useful calculator to do any calculations when you are out and about. There is also a feature called the BioCalender. In this you enter your date of birth and todays date and it gives you a mini horoscope in the form of a rating out of five for: Chance, Love, Energy and Success. It changes each day so it is a really unique feature of this phone. A stopwatch is also included which may come in useful at some point in your life.
It has a choice of 20 ringtones ranging from Bach and Mozart to Old McDonald has a Farm. You can set it at three different volume levels as well as have it on silent. It can also be set to vibrate to contact you discreetly. There is even a vibrate then ring feature.
So all these must make the battery run down really fast - wrong. The battery provide up to 240 minutes of talk time and will stay on standby for 5 days. It is really easy to charge to by connecting the phone to the charger provided. The phone can be charged while switched off and when it is on enabling it to get charged while you are available for incoming calls.
This phone is cheap yet has a tremendous amount of features and is really easy to use. I highly recommend this because it does the job just as well as any other on the market.
Advantages: looks good feels good Disadvantages: bad stanby/talktime
This phone was and always will be my first! Great for those who want a phone to be a phone and do not need a camera phone etc. you can get these from about £30 new now and this is a bargain!
Features;
This phone has quite a few of simple features some of them are;
a phone book- this is easy to acess and can store up to 90 names (enough for me!!) with this function you have the possibility to add names (obvious) find out your own number, search- ... ...in your phone so you dont have to scroll through massive amounts and view this is were you scroll through your addresses.
Calls- With this feature you can VIEW the last ten calls you have made. i use this to check that my brother hasnt stolen my phone!! i find it great and well needed on all phones for security reasons. and Duration, with this you can check how long your call lasted allowing you to work out the cost of your call if you think you ...

Advantages: Good price, Choice of ringtones, Vibrate/Silent modes, Sms icons, Good battery life Disadvantages: Can't download ringtones/icons
You can assign a PIN code to prevent unauthorised people using your phone, and better still, you can assign a second PIN for someone who is borrowing your phone - the purpose of this being that when they enter the second PIN, they may only dial out specified numbers, preventing overuse of your phone (and hence your bill!).
As well as the usual phonebook facility, you have the option of voice dialling a few of the numbers - instead of searching for ... ...the search feature), you can speak into the mic and when it compares the recording with stored ones, the phone dials the number as appropriate... quite useful when you can't use both hands to find a number (eg on the train) or when you are a little worse for wear at the end of a night out and can't work the handset very well!
There are a few ringtones to choose from, with varying volumes, plus a vibrate feature, meaning that you can be alerted to ...

Advantages: its resistant to the elements to an extent Disadvantages: its pretty crap really its the price that appeals
...where do i start. The philips savvy has some very useful and fairly interesting features and there are also an equal amount of bad features along side these never the less i will try my best to tell you them and you can decide for yourselves the verdict.
The first thing i should point out is the price of the product which is fairly modest in my eyes which is good. i got it for roughly thirty five pounds and this came with the simcard, a charger ... ...wrong there price wise. The screen is small and is slightly sunken into the phone itself to give slightly more protection from scratches ehich leads me onto my next point about how resillient to the elements this contraption is. my freind used to have one of these and the amount of crap it went through was umbelievable. it was left on a garden lawn for half of a very damp night and the only major problem was the speaker which was a little distorted ...

Advantages: Great price, many useful features, good sound Disadvantages: Menu, looks yesterday
...of view of ergonomics in Philips Savvy there is nothing especial: rounded forms, conveniently lies in a hand, is rather successful the parity of a mass and dimensions is selected. Despite of rather small on modern concept display, the information on it is read without difficulties. From three lines two are really used for navigation only, third - line of indicators. However optimal font, animation of scrolling of the menu and the nice illustrating ... ...management.
On a control system of the telephone it is necessary to stay especially. An a little bit exotic disposition of a key "Оk" - on the lower arrow of a wheel, and also scrolling the menu on a horizontal in first some seconds call some bewilderment, but then it becomes clear, that it not only is original, but also it is convenient. In addition to this I shall mark, that all main functions (voice set, notepad, input in the menu, loudness ...

Advantages: Small, solid and easy to use Disadvantages: Not many of extra features
This handset came as part of the package for BTCellnet Pay and Go service. As time went by I got tired of my large and bulky Siemens handset plus most of my friends seem to go for BT Cellnet service, so I decided to buy one myself. The choice in Carphone Warehouse was very much straightforward: expensive Nokias stayed on shelf, flimsy and cheap Ericsons did not have a chance, only this phone was perfectly right. In fact, it felt right in the hand!
... ...compact and sits in the hand as it is growing from it. Not heavy, not bulky it, however, looks and feels solid and capable of enjoing a good long life. And I am not a person who protects mobiles from all the eventualities of life. Therefore I am going for solid and durable items. This is the one!
Installation and use. Installation - piece of cake. Easy and straightforward. The use of the handset is very simple. The main menue feels quite logical. ...
